Congratulations Dems!

Congratulations Dems!

Congratulations on your victory democrats.

America has chosen to go the route of wanting to the government to take care of their lives, and this election will be the new beginning of the next nanny state where people won't have to worry about anything....the government will be there to help you out.

Obama ran a brilliant marketing campaign that pulled the wool over the eyes of countless Americans.  It will be interesting to see how his supporters react when his marketing "shine" wears off, and we see how his inexperience and socialist leaning affect the true hard working Americans.

But since "fairness" was a theme we heard over and over, I will do my best to treat Obama with the same fairness and respect as democrats did Bush.  :)

Why are you calling him a socialist? He doesn't even come close to that! There are no socialist politicans in the USA.
End of quote

There most certainly are.  There's an entire socialist party in the USA, they even had a candidate running for president although he didn't make it onto most ballots.

Hopefully, in 2 years, the voters will have gained some sense and will vote in a Republican congress. In the meantime, I won't say a word. But every time something bad happens, I will not hold back my "I told you so's." I hope you're ready Leftist's, because now that your favorite punching bag is no longer going to be sitting there, what are you going to do? Now you don't even have a Republican congress to blame it on. Everything falls on your shoulders. Hope your ready. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

Wow, talk about not taking anything from either of the candidates' remarks yesterday.  Some just can't seem to understand.  I guess the message of working together despite disagreements didn't quite get through to everyone.  The blame game is not going to help America solve problems.  Separating from common ground to cling to the party ranks helps no one, and we'll see if Obama can be an effective President while still being critical of his own party at times.  What I do believe is that Obama will be a much better leader for this time than McCain ever could have been.  I'm not saying that McCain would always be a worse choice, but at this time, he didn't have the right ideals for the nation overall, and the election demonstrated this.

Yeah, see; the main problem with BHO is that so many people, especially in the media, are so perfectly willing to overlook any and everything negative. You'd think the guy was an absolute saint.

Even if he falls flat on his face from Innaguration Day onward, will we ever hear it? I doubt it....Joseph Goebbels would be proud of the media we have today.

GOP-RIP

Feel free to enjoy Obama's victory. People here will not take away your right to be happy and insult the Republicans in the process, though I have to say Obama should be ashamed that his "united not divide" concept fell on deaf ears amongst his own followers.

I will sit and wait for the hammer to fall, in Obamas own words:

"We may not get there in one year or even in one term"

But we will eventually see the true results of his Presidency and just like others here, I will be here to echo the "I told you so's" of the JUsers who were called "RepubLIE-CONs".

You can count on it.

I guess Obama has already had his first failure as the next President of the US. Nice way to start his Presidency.

This man is going to screw things up so badly that the American people will be begging the Repubs to dig up Richard Nixon and run him in 2012. Maybe even Joe McCarthy. Anyone but Obama.

I predict a resurgence of conservative Republicanism that will start during the 2010 midterms and carry right on through to the next election.

His sheen will only last as long as the first real crisis; especially if it involves carnage and destruction. When they see what he's really made of, that's all it'll take.

After reading all the comments here  ... it is so obvious that Palin's "Real American" patriotics cant wait to see the newly elected president fall on his face and fail ... so they can say "i told you so" ....

and for all those who complain about the way Democrats met W with contempt and anger ... there was a reason for it ... actually very good reason .... you can spin it anyway you wish ,,,, but the whole universe knows W did not win in 2000 ... yes he was in-effect appointed by the US supr.CT.

even with that ... they held their anger and contempt and gave him his tax cut, over Mc Cain's objection no less. then they gave him full support and encouragement after 9/11 ... the world did the same despite W's disregard for it ... europe, middle east, asia .. everywhere they supported him ... including IRAN....

then came the lies, the deception, the disregard for every commonsense environmental and social policy and above all the total disregard for the Republican congress (2001-2006) .... and the constitution ... and to top it off the katrena disaster which was a natural result of the incompetence that he installed throught the Fed Gov. .... only after all that, the country and in particular the Dems and Indep ...turned their disgust and anger against him and his neo-con masters ......

in fact most of the Dems blame their own leaders for giving W all that support for that long .. (see tax cut only for the rich, the Iraqi war resolution ...etc) which allowed him to do such widespread damage to the country ...

but the "Real American" patriotics ... cant wait to see the new Dem president fail so they can say "i told you so" .... is that the way you put your "country first"? !!!! i dont think so ....

let's give the man a chance ... and if he proposes something that we thinkk is wrong we all should speak and let our views known to him... he said he would listen ..let's hold him to that promise.

let me just remind everyone .. Demas are the first to stand against their own leader if they think he is wrong or a failure ... (see carter) .. in fact they go, in great numbers, and support the Rep whom they think is better ... (see Raegan  Dems) ... that is putting "country first" to practice not just using it as a slogan.

Hey, you guys got to enjoy Bush's constant Bushism, cartoons and even a movie to make your day. Don't you dare try to take that same privilage away from us. Fairness my ass, it's not as funny when the shoe is on the other foot isn't it?

It's time to show just how good your guys really are, you guys got full control of the Nation, time to walk the walk. Just don't forget in todays world we have things like blogs, youtube and camera phones. The proof will not only be in the pudding.

Good luck.

Which only Americans making over $120K/$150K/$250K/whatever qualify as?

The blame game is not going to help America solve problems.

Perhaps the democrats can demonstrate this?  Since they have been unable to for the last 8 years, and dont seem capable even now in victory (I call you attention to the Pelosi speech).

that is the problem right there !!!!   we were all hoping that he succeeds... and it was not crying over his win it was the loss of our Nation's resources, prestige and men/women for no good reason ... we still suffering that ... we should all be crying in our hearts.

Our victory? ... it yours and our country's too .. you will see.

What resources?  The ones the democrats did not let us drill for so we got $4/gal gas?  Yea right!

What Prestige?  The opinion of a bunch of felons that would rather have 50 million people suffer so they can fatten their wallets?  YOu are a joke.

And the men and women.  Is this part of the newspeak?  Some lives good, other lives bad?  Hello 1984 and Animal Farm!  Thinkaloud is calling your name!  So who is going to be shipped to the glue factory now?

You never tire of disseminating the propaganda, do you? I might point out that it was Gore who wanted to throw out untold numbers of military and other in absentia votes. Would have made it a lot easier for the Court to choose him.

Anyway, one thing you can never REALLY take from Bush (even though you desperately try) is that not one innocent American has died post-9/11, despite the hysterical warnings being spread by the media back then. For seven years, he's kept us safe, even though the Dems and liberal media did their best to undermine his efforts.

I wonder how safe we'll be with a president our enemies actually support?

I always thought of you that way .... here you go ... and i dont believe you would be disappointed at all ... you will see.

for your information... and i think most of people here know that already ... Dems and liberals in particular will be the first to chew him up .... remember when somone here said Dems always eat their own ... very true ... when they screw up ... see Carter ... i voted for anderson... (the modrate Rep) that year .... never before or after i voted for a rep.

when the president of the sole superpower screws up ... he does that to the whole world ... and deserve to be chewed... regardless of his party.

only fools and jerks still beleive that.  Even after the all the evidence - pre and post election - is shown that he did win.  But then those saying "Everyone hates...." only say that to excuse their own stupidity.  Not for a valid argument.

I couldn't help but point out that a lot of innocent (ie: civilian) Iraquis and Afghans HAVE
End of quote

And many of those died at the hands of their own countrymen, just like before the war started. It's a sad thing civilians dieing, but very expected in a land where my enemy's friend is my enemy too. If fundamentalism does not take hold of post-war Iraq, I think the people will be the big winners. I don't think it will be the same for Afghanistan. There they are already trying to make peace with the Taliban. If successful the two can never peacefully co-exist, and it will be a long slow bleed until one faction is successful. Hope and change have little meaning there.

For all the political animosity we display here, myself included, I want to make one thing clear. I'm very capable of separating political views from the person expressing them, and some of the most wonderful people I've met in JU, some of those I've grown very fond of (and a few I even love) are so far on the opposite end of *my* political spectrum that you'd think I'd want nothing to do with them at all.

That's because you are intelligent. Yet so many would condemn Obama for having this same ability. People are a mixed bag but almost everyone has some positive attributes that a wise person can glean from them without accepting the the whole bag.
