Contests for creating content for the game

This is a bit premature, but I can just see it now for Beta testers-

How cool would it be to have a content creation contest (say that three times fast!) where the winner of various categories gets their content included as "official" content for the game?  Wow.  Allowing testers to contribute would really allow SD some free, innovative, and cool options.  Granged, there would be a bunch of worthless ones, too, but it may be worth it.

Any plans for this, SD?  I'm not particularly gifted artistically, but if the contests include coming up with cool spells, heroes, maps, etc. I might spend some time thinking through this.

I would love this but it may be difficult for the devs to sort through and it would take more than just posting an idea here on the forums.  I would think they would need an offical submission method and a limit per individual so people do not just throw out crappy ideas hoping something would stick.

As you said it is a bit soon to make plans, but I think we will be doing some contest for sure. It will be a while before we get down to any sort of offical roles however, maby by beta 1 or 2.

It's a good idea. I'm not an artistic type, but if there were some opportunity to get some creative writing in there I might go for it, and I suspect plenty of others would be keen as well.

I'm sure this is still in the early phases, but I thought Brad mentioned users being able to upload their own content to a moderator.  Well, if it already needs to go through a moderator, making them judged might not be too bad.  And if that content can be rated by users, that might help bubble up the really cool stuff.

I'm in.  I can only do programmer art but I'm sure I can talk my wife into doing some artwork for me.
