No Pigeonx2 for 3 months?!!! I am not at all sure we will survive!!! :'(

I have not pre-ordered (and not posted here yet) as I don't like tying up funds ahead of time, it's an uncertain world people! However the moment a beta is available I will be all over it! :D ... if nothing else I've spent so much time talking about it on the forums I feel kinda obligated :)

oh my,   pigeonx2, but you're one of us.    We'll miss you.   You're probebly even more reliable than I am to quickly be at a new post giving your input.   In fact, I'm about to become a little less reliable myself just because I now my part time job from home, which means places that would eat up my time other than elementalgame.com (like youtube or just playing a GalCiv2) will be fighting for my time between calls.

I was going to say post in my contest, but if you're going to be traveling I'm not sure where I'd send a shirt if you won it.

bye-bye.  See you when you get back.

/ you haven't pre-ordered jonny!?  shame on you :P    During a struggling economy is the time you SHOULD be investing.   That is the whole problem.  If everybody in the US invested at the same time, then the economy would stop falling.   (I remember when they are like 'oh, they are projecting a huge fall in the stock market'  > 'oh, it happened'  its like, well duh, its because they said it would.   Everybody pulled out their money because they thought they'd lose it, then nobody has any money to create business, and so stuff stops working!   its our own faults.

Well to an extent that's true, but I am from merry-old-England and as such there are exchange rate variations which are hard to account for :) As far as I know (if the £ continues to suffer) the game could end up costing a year's pay by the time the beta comes out :S... ha ha ha.. although I might still pay that! I'd still prefer to make an informed decision at the time though ;)

I never pre-ordered a game before because I dont believe in buying something until I see the final product. But...I finally caved. Based on the repuation of the developer and the information thus far, this will be a truly awesome game

*sounds off* toooooot

I was only 11 when MoM was released, too young to fully appreciate the intricacies of such a game, so I'll see if I can find a copy still lying around somewhere to try it with a more mature mindset :)

I love all the previews and heaps of features Stardock is planning to put into EWoM and am looking forward to help test this new "tablecloth" game

One of the reasons I'm a very loyal Stardock game customer is that they seem to stand alone in their "Sell no wine before its time" attitude.

The only other company I know of that does that is Blizzard, infamous for their "When it's done (tm)" release dates  |-) They also patched some of their older games a while back so you no longer need a CD in the drive to play it, much like Stardock has with their games, albeit from release (though I find neither cd-in-drive or cd-keys to be an obtrusive form of DRM). I just hope both companies can keep up their superior policies in the face of Big Money :D

eh, I'm nervous about blizzard, because I feel that "Big Money" has been causing them to loose a bit, but then again they haven't released anything other than WoW in 6 years, so maybe they recognise it too and will correct me.

Stardock is about to expand to another team, and RPGs to boot (something I wasn't expecting actually, based on a comment I got from Frogboy once, maybe he doesn't include narritive design as the same as a 'game designer' )

I shall have to wait to pre-order this until closer to the time for financial and other concerns that far ahead in the future.  Either I'll pre-order it at that time, or on release day.

However, strangely, I literally just discovered the whole PC TBS/RTS Fantasy Strat thang in the past week or so after all these years of varied gaming, so finding that something like THIS was on the horizon was just fantastic(First I heard of this was within NeoGAF).  I'm a big Roguelike guy, so I can see so many tantalizing things in Elemental that get the gears spinning in my head.  Meanwhile, I ordered Dominions III earlier this week without even bothering with the demo and very much think I'll be giving Impulse and folk some additional much appreciated business by purchasing Elven Legacy the week after next or so.  Furthermore, if you guys can happen to get the new King's Bounty as well anytime soon then my oddity of not happening to need to sign up with GG yet compared to most folk I've ran across will continue.  ;)

Besides, unlike most folk here, my current PC wouldn't even be strong enough to actually beta the game, so ultimately getting this or even getting to play the Elven Legacy I'll get in the immediate future will likely have to wait until sometime later, or late, 2009---when I shall at last have a modern PC...64-bit monster.  B)

I'm going to try and be as active as I can forum wise meanwhile though, contribute what thoughts I can.

Pre-ordered the game without reading anything about the game, but from what I have read by now, I am totally awaiting the first beta release! I also can't wait to find out more about the modding system ^_^

Pre-ordered. Felt that the updated GalCiv was what Master of Orion 3 *should* have been, so I have every confidence that Stardock will create another product that not only captures what made Master of Magic so great, but build upon it in their own unique way. Putting my money where my confidence is. :)

Keen to see what happens regarding Wardell's plans for custom content - with any luck this'll be a title that I can play for years to come.

i just preordered today.

is there already any answer to this question: i don't see any indication in my impulse account that i preordered, i don't even know how we can link our impulse account to the preorder since nothing was asked when ordering, just the credit card. will we receive an email indicating start of beta and how to link our impulse account to download it?

I mailed about this with support, and they said that when the beta is available (not before unfortunately ;)) you will get an email with a beta key sent to the email address you gave when ordering. That key you can then link to your Impulse account :)

Just pre-ordered after seeing the GDC video.  I had planned to wait, but had to feel like I was doing something.  :)

Pre-ordered, as always. I think I have bought more games from Stardock over the last decade than I have from any other game publishers. Aside from Elemental and possibly Demigod, the only other games I am actively waiting for are Diablo III and Starcraft II. Between Stardock and Blizzard, pretty much all my gaming needs are covered. :)

Part of testing is seeing if a game can scale to different hardware configurations properly. I think it was said that Elemental should be able to be played on rather old hardware.

Just pre-ordered the game. I was going to anyways, but have been waiting because I wanted the retail box, and the costums to Norway will be expensive + there is a great chance I'm moving before the release in 2010. But of course, I can't miss the Beta...... :D

I'm waiting until a beta comes out simply because I want to know how much I'm going to be charged. Due to foreign exchange rates shifting like crazy lately, I really don't know what the game is going to cost me in Canada until the day arrives.

So as soon as Stardock starts doing billing, thats when I'll place an order.

Preordered and eagerly awaiting release. I truly hope a strong community forms around this game, more so because of the modding ability. (Warcraft 3 and it's simply amazing modding community comes to mind.)

Of course I should be kept fairly busy between Demigod, Starcraft 2, and Diablo 3. If the last two games come out this lifetime, anyway.
