ELEMENTAL is announced!
Stardock's next PC game after Demigod
It looks like a midevil twist of GalCiv II.
I might consider this... In my opinion it looks like the same thing as Sins, but Medieval and with magic. I'm not being rude, but could Stardock maybe make a game like Sins, or Elemental, but in a present-day time period?
It really isn't the same as GalCiv, there are remarkable differences and the game team is doing an amazing job.
I'll write that down in the suggestions for a modern day game in this style.
The only similiarity I see between it and Sins is they are both RTS games, MoM was turn based, but it does seem like it drew alot of inspiration from it, I'm hoping they have spells in it, to summon fantasical units to be part of your army, I always wanted to play with Angels and Arch Angels in MoM, but I never got to play it that much to get that far, I still have found memories of the game though.
Perhaps I didn't read it well enough, but the following similarity jumped out at me:
Available races in Elemental: Men, the Fallen, and the Beasts.
Available races in EA's Armies of Exigo: The Empire, the Fallen, and the Beast.
Wait, what? Er... coincidence?
Clearly a coincidence methinks. However in the interest of preventative legal action, maybe SD make efforts to change names. In keeping with what little lore is published I like following for the game:
Good idea, although unfortunately "Forsaken" was also a name used in Armies of Exigo (though thankfully not a playable race)
Magisterium sounds cool, but people might think it refers to a Catholic-Church-like authority. Sorry, I don't want to be pedantic about this ![]()
Wildlings sounds awesome though!
Well it is "magic" related and most traditional games portray magic as a discipline and each form has an order so it seemed appropriate to use Magisterium. Another name that might lend itself well would be "genius". The Roman divinity who presided over the birth and life of all men, places and things.
Additionally, I was not aware that the forsaken was used in the same title. Hmmm...
kk then
i'm sure the devs will take all this into account when developing, so our discussion is probably academic, though interesting.
Ah no! I rather think I got it (Forsaken) confused with the WoW undead group. My bad. There goes the correlation ![]()
Elemental is not an RTS, it is turned based. It is nothing like Sins. If anything it is more like GalCiv.
The game is basically Civ 4/Gal Civ 2 but in a fantasy setting and with tactical battles.
The graphics; is the game made using Flash?
The troll; is he made from stone?
The semicolon; should it be a colon?
Well, if the dev team manages to make it as moddable as they hope, this would easily be doable with a mod - as long as someone has great artistic talent ![]()
I've long wanted a game just like this. Heroes of Might and Magic series are close, but not quite, to the kind of game I've wanted to play. Fantasy: Total War probably about as best as I can think of for the kind of fantasy strategy game I've wanted to play. Elemental seems like it is going to be that game. I sure hope it is, anyway.
I must admit I generally dont like this type of game but this Elemental looks VERY interesting, I may just buy it.
My only grief with it right now is you cant play as the Beasts. If that were fixed I would be pumped!

But you can my friend. It will have fully customizable races. Which is the next best thing to developer designed ones. Remember that Frogboy is here to
[clap]
PUMP YOU UP!

The Fallen is a fairly general fantasy term I think. As for the beasts, they're not a race - it's just what all the critters in the world are generally known as.
But it said in the desciption that the Dragons were smarter than people so presumabley they would have their own civilization?
Still reguardless I am highly intrigued, and I generally dont go for these types of game So thats pretty impressive.
