Retail Edition SR2: Rise of the Dominators.

I need a little help since I had been trying to embed this game in Impulse, so that it registers correctly and now that I also bought SR2: Reboot. Rebbot registers fine, but my SR2 does not. Anyone know the solution for this?

Impulse don't support store CDs except on GalCiv 2 I think. Not even GalCiv1+ Altarian Prophecy cds I got long ago will register properly. I was more worried about Space Rangers 2 though which I bought a few years back. Needless to say, after a few emails I was told sorry for my troubles, they don't support CD's but planned to implement it in the future.

Now, the support I do have with the games I bought on Impulse got me to stop cheaping out and pay the full $40 for SR2: Complete. That way each time I want to play Reboot I don't have to find the old DVD and install it in a certain way to run with Reboot, I'll just download Impulse and be done with it. Sorry if that's not the answer you're not looking for.

True, I'm just disappointed that I bought Reboot and will be unable to use it.

Especially when it just states this part

NOTE: Space Rangers 2: Reboot requires Space Rangers 2 to play.

It doesn't even state that it doesn't work with the CD version.

I found on another website how one guy got the CD version to work with Impulse version of Reboot:

So did anyone figure out if the boxed version worked with the expansion?

Yes, it does. I'm proof of it. BUT, there's some loving around with the install location when installing the boxed version. Impulse does not allow you to choose a location, so you need to tell the boxed version to install to program files/cinemaware/space rangers 2, then install the expansion which will put it in that location.

Normal install of the boxed version put it in /cinemaware marquee/ which won't work.

Also, the expansion gets rid of Starforce, and you don't need the CD in the drive anymore.

Alrighty, good to know. IMO it was a good move by Stardock to get rid of Starforce, too.
