Wallpaper doesn't change

Fences is a splendid program but with it running and then starting a program like Natural Destop or Aquarium Desktop the wallpaper will not change unless I right click the desktop > select properties > desktop > select "whatever" > select the wallpaper that it should be > click "apply" to have it applied > exit as usual. 

I turned off Fences via tools > more tools and the aforementioned programs apply the background as expected.

Has anyone else expienced this?  Or is Jeff B. aware of the issue?  Not a big deal in beta software, just wanted to mention it.
