Transparent Background

Color

Is there a way to "colorize" the background of a picture in IconDeveloper to be transparent, such that the object appears to be on a clear background?
Thanks.

do you have a screen shot of what you would like, I don't quite follow... but Alpha Blending should be an option if you mean what I think you mean...

in general what you do is make your image as a transparent PNG, then import it into IconDeveloper, and that's it... all you have to do make the image transparent when you draw it. You can use "Magic Pink" as your color, and that will be pink when editing the image, but transparent when viewing the image.  Understand?

IconDeveloper now lets you choose black, white, or the upper left pixel color to be transparent if you click the alphachannel button

much better to start with png or tiff with transparency in it

Bobin17901, da_zman20, Bichur,

My apologies for not responding sooner.  My development duties have kept me away from the forums for too long.  Is this still an issue?  I was able to create an image using a pinkish background color, create an icon from it, and use the Alpha Channel adjustment on the image import form (it's in the lower lefthand corner) to set the upper left pixel as the transparent color, as Bichur suggested.  However, there were some issues with the background color still "sticking" to the edges of the inner content.  Certainly something to fix in a future patch.

yes, but not sure it's readily fixable unless you throw in either multiple choices or let it also apply a changeable tolerance.

it leaves it around the edge because generally due to blending, those pixels aren't an exact match to the upper left one.

Yes, a slider to take care of the blended pixels will be added in the next ID update.

until then you could use a program called Microangelo... I used to use that back in the day... before Icondevoper even existed... they have a 30 day trial at their website... may at least get you taken care of for now... ;)
