After creating an icon..where do I save it to and how do I make it appear

This program has been very frustrating..I have finally been able to create an icon, now I need to know where do I save it to and how do I get it to appear.  I've placed the icon in the icon packager folder where all of my other icons are and it is in a folder. When I go to the Icon Packager..it does not appear..WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!!!

one icon does not a package make

to change an individual icon with icon packager,

open it IPkgr, then click 'icons & cursors'

in the 2nd row pick the category with the icon you want to change

click change this icon

browse to your icon

 

 

if you click 'help' icon at the top right corner of IPkgr you'll get this:

Thank you so much for answering my question.  I have 4 icons in the folder I created and I was able to change my desktop icons with your instructions.  Since I am now able to create icons and I know how to get them on my desktop..there is nothing holding me back..at least not right now..Thnk you again
