Mod ship request

Can someone switch the level six abilities of the desolator and the evacuator?

Thanks. I think it would be fairly straight forward but I am not sure.

it is really easy to do, honestly, it would only take around 30 seconds to do yourself. just got to download the mod reference data for the latest version, open the desolator capital ship reference data as well as the evacuators and then copy the last ability of each ship (it will be near the top) (called ability 4 if memory serves corectly) and then save and put it either in your default directory or copy the "GameInfo" foldure into a foldure for your mod (which is then placed in the mod foldure) and enable it via the mod brouser in game.

Well call me stupid LOL but I cant find what he said to look for. I looked in my main directory and dowloaded the forge tools. I am completely inept on these things.

give me some time and ill download the new forge tools and create the ship but ill also explain it more in detail so you can help yourself later on.

Battleship

Colony

as for the helping yourself part, download forge tools, then open/extract "Reference Data" then "GameInfo". These are the files you modify (if your using the 1.1 beta (also known as 1.09) the reference files will be in the mod section, you just need to search for them.

Thanks, I got the files you need, what program do I use to open them? I cant open the files and when I execute the developer all it does is launch Sins of a SAolar Empire. LOL Thanks for all your time.

you need to go into options after opening sins and load the mod you made. If you copied it into your game files directly (The new cap ship data) then it should already be set.

You're opening the default files right? You need to be checking out the "Refrence Data" folder in the modding tools, that way the entity file is actually legible.

the developer is a on the fly sins moder that alows you to make changes on the fly with ship/ability files. as previously stated, you need to open the "Reference Data" in the  forge tools foldure with notepad (or a text program) and mod thoes files, there are several other post about how to install mods if you are still wondering also. (altho its in the forge tools as well)

Do I need something more, I placed them in there own folder and what notbut the ship abilities remain the same.

to use mods you need to make a mod foldure. to find the mod directory stary up sins, go to options, then mods, then click "show mod path". after you do this, make a foldure with your mods desired name, copy the reference datas "GameInfo" or your sins main cirectory "gameInfo" foldure into it, then place the modified files in that folder and go to the options/mods part when you start up sins, Enable your mod (it will list it), once enabled, click the option to launch the mod when the game starts, then restart the game. the modifyed files should work.

This is what I have in my mod folder: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/Tleilaxu/Untitled-5.jpg

I also pasted the two entity files in that game info folder, yet no matter what I do everything is the same LOL there must be a really simple step I am missing.

Ok so it is in the correct folder and what not and it DOES show up in game under the mods option I enable it and go back to the main menu and start a new game, yet the ship remain the same.

rename the GameInfo foldure to GameInfo, what makes it not work is the -Copy extenchion in its name.make sure the two edited files are in it (they need to be renamed back to what they originaly were tho, because the game will automaticaly look for the CAPITALSHIP_PHASECOLONY and CAPITALSHIP_PHASEBATTLESHIP.

as far as other mods go, no one has actualy pmed me, im not sure what the others are doing, as far as teal goes, im helping him from time to time with questions.
