Seperated! Need help

Hi everyone.

Question. Is there a good strategy for when you're alone/seperated from your allies? I often find myself in this kind if situation.

It is a 4v4, and your allies are on one side of the system, while you are on the other and there are enemies on either side of your homeworld (Seperated by a few planets of course).

I almost always lose very fast when placed as the "Odd one out". is there a good strategy to use in this kind of situation?

Replies are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Grab a couple worlds, make repair bays, and turtle up as best you can.  If your allies are in a really secure position, they should be able to feed you to keep you alive, or at least make you a tremendously costly pain to kill.  Sometimes you will still die, but the point is to hold out long enough that your allies gain the upper hand.  Basically, you die, but 2 of your opponents die to your allies.

If, however, your allies suck....then you are probably dead.  But if they sucked, this allows you to move on to the next game where you don't have sucky allies, so it is a blessing in disguise.

Of all the people who should know how to beat a 3v1, it would be Cykur: he is the king of the screwed position.  In any event, I would also suggest that you send a colony ship over to your allies side.  That way, even if you do get overcome, you can make a go at it once your allies start wiping the other guys off the map.  I have done this a few times and even got some compliments from my opponents for making such a good comeback.

I always find myself in this position. Very rarely I live long enough to retreat to my allie's side.

If you are playing multi-system games, research long range jumps and go to another system.

Otherwise one tactic I use it to orientate towards where the better player or more numbers are (depending) and call loudly for my allies to do enough to distract the person on my other flank

e.g. Go for the enemy with the arrow (>E) and let my allies worry about their exposed guy (E*)

                E*           A

X                                 A

      >E                      A

                E        E

Depending on map size, your race, and what races surround you really only have two choices. Turtle or Spread.

If you're going to spread, get the colonizer cap first and run. If you're gouing to turtle, get the battleship and build static D. If your allies can feed you, you could have a massive fleet fast
