ARC:Changing techs MetaVerse legal?

In regards to using advanced race customization to customize a stock race, can the starting techs be changed within certain paramaters without tripping a cheat flag? (in Dark Avatar)

I also recall a link to a thread that showed which fields in the xml file were legal to change, but I can't find it anymoe.

Thanks.

edited, I meant to say MV, not MVL

No, I dont think the techs for a stock civ can be changed using ARC and still be MV legal.

ARC is Advanced Race Customization.  Each civ has an xml file which contains all it's individual info, settings, stats, and there are a few things you can edit in the file and still have a game played with it be Metaverse legal.  If not MV legal, it will trip a cheat flag on the game, and it wont count towards your MV score.  There are no other penalties, and sometimes a cheat flag can be tripped for an unknown reason.  I had one game like that.

Technically the thread you reference highlights items that can be changed without tripping the cheat flag which is not precisly the same thing as xml fields that are "legal to change".

This was fully disclosed to Cari who took it on futher advisement, however it's been 8 months with no response so there's no reason to expect anything from Stardock in this regards. Also AFAIK pretty much everyone is OK with this which basically makes it de facto legal.

Anyway the thread you were looking for is How do you make custom races Metaverse compatible?
