"Leery"About Uploading A .scr File

I 'think' I Found the Scr. File Of My Favorite Screensaver But I Am Not Sure If It Is What I Should Upload Because Its Only 80.00KB And Its Very Complex And Most I Have Downloaded Are Like 400 So Should I Still Upload it and See if it works?

Is the Screensaver from the gallery library here?  What is the name or give a link.

I would suggest no, unless you created it

If you meant 'download', then see reply #1 above.

Smallest I have is 24k....the 'Matrix' screensaver [or one of the many]...so they need not be big.

Only issue is...a 'scr' is an executable...and thus could have a nasty payload...eg virus/trojan, etc.

Since it appears from what you say to not be yours there's no option for you to 'upload' it here at all.  Content is required to be your own work....;)

If you meant upload, then why:

If you did not create that screensaver, then do not upload it.
If you made it, then upload it.
If you found it here, then read reply number #1 and tell us where you found it.

Creating a Screen Saver using Visual Basic would be the most likely way to insert a virus, etc. although scanning the .scr or .zip package with your virus scanner should thwart any "nasty payloads". With many screen saver programs, like Axialis Professional Screen Saver Producer, I feel it would be impossible to insert a malicious code into the saver. Many of the savers made by WC screen saver authors use the Axialis program.

Above is from his uploaded screensaver description.
