Is there a way to launch all ships (from keyboard)?

I know there are icons for new ships at the beginning of a turn.  At least there is supposed to be.  However, in really big galaxies and late in the game, the new ship icons often don't show up.  There is no launch ship icon to punch on either.

I am wondering if there is another way to launch all ships into orbit, say, by the keyboard that actually works.  I get tired of looking for my new ships when I have several hundred planets.

Look at the bottom of the icon stack, and you'll see a red X that you can click to clear all the icons. If ships were built for the turn and left in orbit, a green arrow will appear immediately to the left. You can click that to launch everything that you built that turn.

In Twilight, the Game tab of the Options includes a check box named "Auto Launch Ships From Orbit" that does what it says when you select it--you'll never see the green arrow thingy again.

In DA no green arrow shows up since there are no new ship icons.  Even though there are new ships.  I have to hunt

for them with much effort.  Hopefully this bug will be fixed with the new update.

Glad to hear there is a different way in the new game.

I didn't read you well enough earlier; now I it sounds like you might have a problem with your installation. I've never experienced or read around here about not seeing the blue square icons on the right when your GNN report lists ships constructed for the turn. Have you tried [email protected]?

In late game with DL and DA on larger maps you lose the build notification icons coming up. This usually happens then will come back and work randomly, but more times than not you'll not get them anymore. Cari during the TA beta thought she found the cause of it and it may be fixed in TA, I just haven't played in the right setup to test it thoroughly yet.

That must be a tricky one. I've played far too many large-map DL and DA games and I never saw that, or at least never noticed a brief interruption followed by return to "normal."

It's probably in the style of play GW. At that point in my games I usually have 200-325 ships being built a turn plus any improvements that are still going on at that stage of the game. I think just the shear number is what makes them stop working. I use rally points(some just as autolaunch mechansims) to get around the problems it can cause.

That can help the OP as well. Have all planets set to rally point. When ships are built they will be autolaunched in order to go to the RP. Just go into the governor and cancel all ships autopilot destinations. Then all your ships are launched and awaiting your command. Thank Mumblefratz for that tip :) .

Edit: Come to think of it that might not work so well for all situations, but it works well for my scormongering :0

I think it definitely has to do with the style of games--the size of the universe and the number of ships.

I don't see it at the beginning of the game.  Only when the number of planets and the number of ships gets very large.  Only on the two largest galaxies.

The problem once it starts doesn't go away by itself.  I have to save and restart, look for my built ships, and then inevitably the next turn shows new ships--but only for that turn.

I sometimes will find 2, 3, 4 ships unlauched at a planet if I don't look for them earlier.  This is on the biggest size galaxy where I have 200+ planets.

What brycej says makes me pretty sure it is play style and not simply map size. Most of my games have ended up with me having 200+ planets, but almost always by that point I'm getting bored with fleet production and management and have turned off most small-world starports and most of my warship designs take a while to produce at the average working starport because I don't specialize planets very often.

I think it has to do with # of planets or # of ships built/turn.  It only happens to me in the late stages of a game where I have at least a couple hundred planets and am producing tons of ships.  I assumed it was some sort of memory or overflow issue.
