I Voted Today (Part I)

So I voted today, and I voted for Sen Kerry. I did some research on candidates views on certain issues before I made my decision and there were a few things that swayed my vote.
1) Roe vs. Wade. I just don't like the way the President is leaning on this. I believe that a woman's right to choose is important, and with at least one of the Supreme Court Justices most-likely retiring during this term, I felt this was important.
2) Gay marriages. While neither candidate share my view on the subject, only one of them wants to amend the constitution to ban gay marriages. I won't debate people on the rights and wrongs of this. Its my opinion and thats the way I feel.
3) Going to war in Iraq. I want to hope that the President didn't lie to us about why he went to war. I'd like to believe that he felt there was a credible threat to the US. The thing that gets me is that has become pretty obvious that there were no WMDs and yet the President hasn't admitted that a mistake was made. Hell even Clinton admitted he had "inappropriate relations."
4) Bush/Kerry: The Vietnam Era. I don't give a rats ass. I hope to god that 30 years from now I'm not held accountable for all the stupid shit I did in the 90's, and that wasn't even a time of war!
5) Flip-flopping. I really don't see what is so wrong with it. I am constantly changing my mind based on new information and I really don't see what the problem is if Sen Kerry does the same.
Well. Thats pretty much it. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not as politically astute as I should be, and I won't say that my choices were as informed as they should be, but I did a little research, came to my own conclusions, and made my choice. I'm sure I'm doing better than half of the country that votes straight ticket because they don't know any better.
