Norton 2009 Products

I know this will get howls of derision from the anti-Norton lobby.......but I'm trying out the brand new Norton Internet Security 2009 Suite and I am very impressed. It's catching everything I throw at it. Norton really are listening to their critics now and have started to turn the corner. Very fast scanning, quick reliable pick-up of anything malicious, very small foot print and updates released virtually every day. After the horrors of 2006 they are making a big effort and I think they are going to take back some of the ground they have lost to ESET and Kaspersky in the next few years. If you are in the market for a new AV or Security Suite give the 2009 version a test run. You won't be disappointed.
P.S If you are a Norton 2008 current user you can update to 2009 for free.

BitDefender v10 for me....from memory was/is $50 for 2 years and 2 licenses/machines.  [and it checks for updates every hour as they are frequent]...;)

I heard about your nightmare, Paul and to be honest if I had of experienced the problems you had endured I would never have looked another Norton product in the face..........still times change and I think Symantec are getting it right.

The interface is very nice and it's so responsive and easy to find your way around all the different aspects. Very user friendly. Very responsive too and there's a little meter called 'Norton Insight' on the side which shows your CPU useage for both your entire machine and the Norton product which will help people see that Norton is no longer a resource hog |-)

The problem with Norton products is the way they install to your system. They get right into the very roots making it almost impossible to remove them. Of course the argument would be 'why would you want to uninstall your AV', but that isn't the point.

If I ever install Norton AV again, you can bomb me too...
