GUI Champs '08 - It's Almost Time

http://images.stardock.com/badges/guic_128.pngThe 2008 GUI Championships start in just a few weeks, and we have been working hard getting everything ready, and I think it’s safe to say, this will be the biggest one yet.  The new website is just about done, and today we unveil the splash page for the GUI Champs website.  You can now go to www.guichamps.com and see all the details about the contest, including sponsors and official rules for entry.

Just a quick competition recap:

The 2008 GUI Championships is an international skinning competition held every two years.  Skinners from around the globe are invited to participate in several Windows GUI skinning categories to compete for great prizes and the recognition of their peers.

This year we're focusing on three main areas of Windows UI skinning:

  1. WindowBlinds Skins
  2. Icon Packages
  3. Animated Wallpapers

Prizes include:

  • Wacom Cintiq 12WX
  • Sapphire HD 4850 Video Cards
  • SnagIt & Camtasia Studio
  • DeviantArt Subsciptions
  • Object Desktop Subscriptions
  • Cash

With the party starting soon, I can't wait to see what Mike Bryant, vStyler, PixelPirate among a few top best will be submitted. One thing for sure is they all know we are expecting the very best ever from them and nothing less.

I can only wait for close to two years, but when it's days away for the party to start, I can barely wait.

Elsius Saint Prediction

It is now official! I predict Gui Championship 2008 will be the best ever. I feel the vibe when I visited the new site. I also predict before the end of the Gui Championship, many Gods of skinning will bleed (300 - The Movie), and new unknown artists will rise to the top. The public will go wild…chanting and dancing.

But wait!

Every Olympic game has a musical theme song. It would have been nice to have one too.

Thanks, but let's stay on topic.

If you see me endorsing a skinner, don't blame it on fanaticism. If it's top of the line, Elsius will endorse it. Some skinners are just in it to win it.

messiah1 is alright! I never mind him taking a few jabs at me. He keeps things going with good intention, nothing offensive on both ends. I have not watched you enough to say the same for you.

I've been here since 2001 though my status say 2005, get used to it. Since I've been here, I've never trashed down any Skinner's work, or attacking people as many of you have done to new skinners' work. I'm just loving people and have a little fun. You are the problem I'm trying to change.

I'm getting a terrible horizontal scrollbar, my browser resolution is 1050x936. Doesn't seem to be resolution friendly (unless you're running maxed at 1680 or something?).

Ya. I don't mean any harm. I just like poking ES a bit. Dude get's excited and let's the world know it. No harm in that.  ;)  And I don't mind him changing my post...the original is still there. I do it all the time to Mirsguy (in good fun) when he calls himself a dock freak, I quote it and take out the dock so it says "I'm a freak". Then I'll say "Yes, yes you are". He knows I'm playing with him. *messiah1 looks over his should for the quote enforcers... :LOL:

Entries must not use logos, characters, or other imagery that is copyrighted/trademarked
Isn't it hard to create icon pack with no logos?? like Windows logo and applications logos?
