Yeah. we have a choice, but nothing gets skinned like Windows does
Well in that case, put me down for 1 copy of Nothing Pro Ultimate please...
Sadly if I had a dollar for every time I jumped down the throat of a twit who decided to devolve HRH's English to have 'gay' as a derogatory term....[NOT to mention the earlier bunch who decided the word was to be their 'title' rather than its original meaning] I'd be rich.
But yes, it was noted...;)

ummm you do have a choice, albiet small but a choice nonetheless
Yeah. we have a choice, but nothing gets skinned like Windows does
Well in that case, put me down for 1 copy of "Nothing Professional" if it's not too much trouble for you...
apologies, please remove this reply and reply #28,
as I posted not knowing my first post had been successful.
MS is just clueless, I'm afraid. Master of the obvious, ain't I?
Im gay myself and im astounded that Stardock staff have posted in this thread and said NOTHING about his attitude.

I'm gonna invent a "Civility" button and a "Kindness" button.
Problem is, they won't work either. The last time I invented a button like that, it locked me out of my own computer. The nerve!
So WC will have to do without the "quickfix" buttons, DX Widgets and just have to rely on the Mods.....and maybe, just maybe we'll all evolve into more considerate people.
I hope so. I really do. This is a really nice place that affords us really nice folks.
No littering, please.

It's about time Microsoft started to push out some ads. I guess they wanted to wait for Service Pack 1 to iron out Vista's few issues.
Those confused (read; fearful of change), should look into http://www.mojaveexperiment.com it's an interesting find.
Not fearful of change...on a Vista machine now. OK OS, but, I think it shouldn't be the "default". Also, might be nice if other OS's were developed. I just like new things and believe in diversity.
Just to keep the smiles going:

Doc
Those confused (read; fearful of change), should look into http://www.mojaveexperiment.com it's an interesting find.
The problem with the Mojave experiment is that the people in their test group did not have any knowledge of Vista, they just heard about it from (primarily tech) friends. And they just don't care, to put it mildly. If it works, in any fashion whatsoever, they're happy. They don't care if it consumes more resources, if it takes more hard drive space, if the system requirements are higher-just so long as it works.
Now if you tried to pull that kind of stunt on a hundred random geeks, they'd give you the bird nine times out of ten.
I'm not trying to rag on Vista, and SP1 has improved it, but I honestly was very much unimpressed with it when it launched, and I can't wait for Windows 7. Hopefully we'll at least get a real move to 64-bit (32-bit backwards compatibility is nice, but we don't have "64-bit forward compatibility" on our 32-bit OSes).

Fair enough. Good critique.
I'm a PC and I change the look of Windows. ![]()
I enjoy a good commercial. But I wonder if they actually have any significant impact upon what people purchase.
I like this. Especially the diver.

Yeah I would expect with your job you could have retired a long time ago, or at least bought stardock and have people calling you sir.
Its a good add, but I think this would be better run by a pc manufaturer(s) like Dell, HP, or (and) IBM. Somthing like a guy standing next to some hot women wearing Linux, BSD.eCos, Symbian, Solaris, Vxworks and ONX Tshirts, (and one guy wearing glasses and jeans with a Windows T) he says "Hi im a PC and, these are my bitches. Then another guy says Im a Mac and this is my mom. after the cutscene she coul ask him "do you want to look at some photos?"

God, I wish I did too. I'm a moderator on GameFAQs, and I handle dozens of juvenile idiocies every day. On the other hand, it's cheap entertainment most of the time ![]()
Of course, if anyone ever looks at my browser history, I imagine I'd have some explaining to do. Sometimes I wish the internet had an "unsee" button.
YOU WATCHED IT, YOU CAN'T UNWATCH IT!
Gay.... The word was originally G.A.Y., which means Good As You. It sort of devolved in print to Gay, of which the original meaning is Happy.
Anywas, I haven't watched those ads.
Yes...unfortunately devolved too quick for people to get the connection...;)
I get a kick out of the commercial. It's dorky, has no real meaning, and yet, there is some entertainment value.
I look at the puter world the same way I look at the auto world. There are P.C users, there a Mac users. There are Chevy fans, and there are Ford fans. I like P.C. and I like Chevy. Just how I am, not because one is better than the other. Mainly because every brand throws a lemon. That is just the nature of the beast.
I am a P.C. Just because I am. ![]()
Must... buy... PC...

Not if the "Hard Disk" is a frozen hamburger patty, pjdark,
haha, good point. ![]()
Oh, wow....that is good. And I love the logo......
I like these ads and it's not because of Microsoft so much as becauase every Idiot I know that claims to be a MAC user doesn't know crap about computing - Mac is easy for a reason people they where built for dummies. ![]()
I been a PC user for almost 3 decades and I work in software development - I had a young mac head ask me my you don't use a mac - all computer people I know use mac and I was like - last I checked I don't remember working in any fortune 100 or 500 companies that were using Macs for day to day business operations - um yeah - because they don't so I don't make no money on a mac - which tells me you don't know any real computer people - you tend to buy the stuff that most closely emulates the environment you work in . do for me pc is the way to go
Every notice that if you're the top dog everybody takes shots at you. Somebody has to be there and maybe they aren't really that good (crap even). Sure I hate the blue screens, freezing, errors, security updates and all the little other things that make Bill so much money. If another OS were there instead, I'd bet there would be alot of the same things happening.
Anyway, the ads aren't that good. They need more explosions, car chases and skin. Haha!
