Political Machine/JoeUser Presidential Prediction Poll

Give Your Percentages

We did our informal polls throughout the nomination process, but now that we have the candidates down, lets move on to some election predictions.  Everyone give your prediction on who will win, and the rough percentage of the vote they will get.

For me....

McCain/Palin will win with 54% majority.

Everyone is a comedian! Annual percentage. That is what you get when you start printing money, and that is only if Obama reigns in expectations. if he gives up all he has promised, Carter will start looking good.

Hehe. I personnally only expect a 4-5% inflation rate (annually) for the next 2 years. Which is still very good.

If it goes up even more, it's not gonna be because of the 700 billion bail-out, but because of various commodity's rising price.

and oil. Never forget the oil.

Better hope Palin screws up. It will be hard for Biden to not screw up since he cant plagarize on stage.

Serious?

Will be ELECTED president? I didn't said "will become", or anything like that...

And this is the prediction for the 08 Election, mind you...

I thought the laugh would convey the meaning of "Uncle!  You win" on the absurd front.

Besides, with the markets the way they are, I will bet you my stock in AIG and Lehman Brothers.  NOW do you still want the bet? ;)

AIG? Yes!!!!!! Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!!!

LB is effectively dead, but AIG isn't. Seriously, hold to these shares. It's a sound financial institution, that happened to got hit hard by the stupidity of general Wall Street. Right now, people are quite negative about it, but I am quite sure that in the long term (5+ years) it'll go back up. I'd label it as a "buy" right now. The company is saved, and is in no chance of bankruptcy anytime soon.

As opposed to many other companies right now... :'(

Actually the smart money is buying - bargains.  The failure of a few biggies caused a panic.  But Buffet is buying, and so am I.  I dont know if it will go lower, but I know it will go higher - in time.

Ok, I take back my offer of AIG. ;)

The problem is, except if you buy an index-driven fund, you might end up buying the wrong share, and loose your investment if the firm goes kaput - which is still a probability, in our current situation.

edit: Oh, and I stand by my Obama by 54%, McCain with 43%

I think it will be closer, but Obama still wins.

And as for my buying, I am leaving that to professionals.  I am smart enough to know that I know not. (I have a fund manager).

Clever man.

My boss (who IS a professionnal fund manager) leave most of his assets in an index-linked fund. He is of those who think you cannot beat the market...

Yhea, but not for the reason you'd think. Institutional funds aren't interested in return when they check up their manager, they are interested in added value of that manager. And our recent numbers (who he happened to get yesterday) were very, very good.

Yhea, we still lost 20% this month, but so what? The market lost 22%!!!

My job is to make sure he is. That's how you make business O:)

But sadly, I think our products are a little too much ahead of their time for the mainstream institutional investors... <_<

A good dream, but not a given.  And I will go with that before seeing Obama in a Johnsonesque landslide.

You know, with a good 52-53%, it still could be a landslide when it comes to Electoral votes...
