One last problem/question. . . .

How do you turn off the time limit on single player or whatever it is that ends the game without finishing all objectives (colonizing all planets, defeating the enemy entirely) because my game just ends around the four hour mark.  Also, when I want to abandon a colonized planet, capital ships I NEED to keep in the area with colonizing powers, automatically colonize it, so I have to keep abandoning it, its annoying.  Any answers?  Thanx.

There's no time limit :P You can turn off auto-colonize by right clicking on the ability.

Thanx.  But what if I dont meet certain 'objectives'?  Will the game end abrubtly if I dont colonize enough planets or something?  Caus' thats what happened.

Actually no.

There is only one victory condition in Sins, defeating everything not allied to you.

Also only one lose condition, lose all planets you own.

So the game only "ends" if you kill all enemy planets. Though since the AI can surrender (and you don't get much notice of it) I guess that happened.

But you can still continue that game, by not clicking on end but on continuing.

I dont recall ever having an enemy surrender. Perhaps its the map your playing that has that condition allowed. Try making your own maps, and playing against more than 1 enemy. Also, you might try locking teams, as I think when you lock them, the ability to surrender is turned off. (Someone might like to confirm or shoot that down).

Why would you want to abandon a planet that you still have forces in the gavity well ? I cant think of any reason I would do that. As long as the forces remain, the colony should be viable and fully exploited. If the fleet is there as a defence force, then the planet should have fixed defenses there as well. If an enemy wants it, you should be making them pay for taking it, not giving it to them.

What do you mean by 'objectives' ? Sins really doesnt have any, other than being the last man standing.

By "Objectives" I meant do I have to defeat the whole enemy, and wipeout and/or colonize each planet?  I finally got through my first game without it ending abruptly.  When I say abruptly, I mean the screen showing my credit/ship building/ etc. history pops up with no way to exit except for the main menu.  No way to resume the game!  The last time it happened, I had a huge fleet of ships on the "offensive" moving along, with four planets colonized.  Everything is fine, my colonies and ships were fine.  It's weird. . . .

Nope. You only have to destroy all enemy planets so that the enemy doesn't own any planets anymore.

That's easy to explain. The AI had surrendered to you (only small announcement in the lower left). After this comes a screen asking to end the game or to continue. But if you press your mouse button at the same time, you can inadvertently press the end game button without realizing it, since you'll probably saw that screen for only the fraction of a second.
