Ancient Gifts -fixed

How I learned to stop restarting the map and explore my own backyard.

Fixed the Ancient Gifts map after seeing some frustrations with how sometimes you get the artifact, sometimes you don't.  Even if tweaked to 0 exploration on the homeworld, you didn't always get it.

SO

I tweaked it back.  Samaz's Ancient Gift

ZIP includes slightly modified GalaxyScenarioDef file, Samaz's Ancient Gift.galaxy, and a README that tells you what to do to put the files in the right places and how to play the map right.

To get the Wormhole Travel Artifact, you must explore your planet because I set the exploration to 0.  You'll have to dig a bit to get your goody, but I'm a compassionate creator -you have additional credits, metal, and crystal to explore which if you must explore to level 2 will put you back to the default starting resources.

The AI is a dumb bunny, but will explore their homeworld eventually and get the artifact, so either rip them a new one or explore about until they discover their artifact and then launch their fleet out into the galaxy.

Until Star/Clad fixes the artifact(s) so if your homeworld has it and explore is maxed, you get the working artifact as intended.

BTW, I deleted the end template from the map file and all references to it, nice approach, but annoying in my book.

This map will be fully supported by 7 Deadly Sins 2.0

Hi Semaz,

Which version of the game were you experiencing the artifact problems with? We have been unable to recreate the behavior you describe in our internal v1.095 build. A bug used to exist with the map where 2 of the 6 start positions did not have the artifact, but this was fixed for v1.05. Can you please provide more information?

was 1.05.  Vanilla.  Ancient Gifts in my Galaxy folder is dated 5/20/08.  I'm working with modders atm so I probably won't do v1.095 or v1.1 until the mods work for it.
Had a couple of people try the Ancient Gifts map with no mods enabled and no artifact or just the reduced antimatter for hyperspace/phase jump.  I tried the map several times with limited success.  I even made a custom testing map with artifact on the homeplanets -full exploration, then 0 exploration- and ran into the same issue.  Exploring for the artifact gave the artifact and allowed wormhole travel.

Also, any chance for a clean (no typos/extra tabs) Vanilla GSDef file with everything in the Tech/Phase/Psi player entity files, also all the artifacts for easy placement, being accessible for your final 1.1 release?  If not, no worries I could make one as I've got one 222kb large and purring for 7 Deadly Sins 2.0 in the works with a couple of working maps.

If you could figure out how to allow custom placement of structures via Galaxy Forge and interstar connections for wormholes in different stars, many people would offer to have any Devs' babies.
