Dems on Choice

Democrats are bringing abortion back into the spotlight.

Since the surprise anouncement in Dayton, Ohio that Sarah Palin will be the Republican Vice Presidential Candidate the feminist movement has been hysterically attacking her.  Before I go on, I would like to exclaim that I am so happy that I had the opportunity to attend the Dayton rally, and witness history.

Back to the point, the single most common reason feminists have claimed women should not vote for the McCain/Palin ticket is that Palin is extremely Pro-Life.  Wow!  This little tid-bit of info really rocked my world and made me think less of Palin, NOT!  When has being Pro-Life made somebody too evil to vote for?  What does it say about our society that women are crying about the possibility of no longer being able to kill their babies?

Democrats have long claimed to be the party of compassion.  They defend the poor, helpless, and weak.  What is more helpless and weak than a child inside it's mother's womb?  The Dems want to have a debate over abortion, bring it on!

If you are a young person who's never had a child, I can understand being confused about the issue.  I myself, long ago, thought that it wasn't right to tell a woman what she can and can't do with her body.  That was before I became a father.  During my wife's pregnancy I learned the facts about the development of a baby.  This was very informative, but the most enlightening moment came when my wife uttered one simple statement.  "It's incredible, I'm two people now!"  I've got to tell you, it blew my mind.

Suddenly I realized that the life growing inside of her wasn't just part of her body, but somebody completely different.  A part of her, and a part of me.  Our family of two had grown to a family of three in an instant.  I now know for fact that life begins at conception.  I saw our child on ultrasounds within the first month, and she had her own heartbeat.

I'm sure you are all expecting an arguement against abortion based on religious beliefs.  I am not going to do that.  Instead, I will use the power of reason.

A child in the womb is a living person.  By the time most women realize they are pregnant, the child has a heartbeat detectable by ultrasound.  Killing another person is illegal.  That being said, what is the difference between a woman aborting a child, and a woman hiring a hitman to kill her husband?  I know the difference.  The unborn child has yet had any opportunity to live, sin, or in some instances, pollute the world by being born with a disability.  Yes, this last statement was meant to offend, but only to make you think about your true feelings about people with special needs.

Dems think that aborting children with  special needs is a mercy killing.  How many disabled people have you met honestly, to their core, wish they hadn't been born?  My bet is, few to none.

My feelings on this don't end here, but I've gotten a little off point.  Liberals claim to be compassionate, yet still support the Pro-Choice movement.  I don't understand how anybody who's experienced the joy of parenthood can condone abortion.  I invite all of you Pro-Choice Liberal Crap-Bags to debate this issue, because I've barely scratched the surface of my arguement here.

Let's not forget about the baby-chasing that goes in the Abortion Clinics. Some Forced Labor Abortions (20-22 weeks in pregnancy) don't always go as the Dr. plans. So, there are some babies that haven't died, and are left in a utility closet, or garbage can. One nurse even held an aborted baby in a utillity closet for 45 minutes until it died. THIS IS MURDER! I can't help but wonder how these Doctors sleep at night, but I also wonder how this doesn't haunt the women that march into these clinics to get rid of them. Unfortunatly this is a Pro-Choice, Pro-life argument. It should be a Humanity Argument. Chilldern born with disabilities are blessd by God, and for ANY baby to be cast away is an atrocity. I curse any woman, doctor, or anybody assisting in abortions to be plagued for what they have done for the rest of their lives.

Lynn,

Does that give you the right to tell someone else what to do with their body?  I will agree that the decision needs to be made earlier rather than later in the pregnancy, but what right do you or I have to tell someone else what they can or cant do with their bodies?  What if you had crooked teeth, should I be able to require you to get braces?  Personally I am against abortion in my own life, but wont tell others they cant.  I am a man and I certainly dont know what a woman goes though so I cant tell they what to do with their bodies.

I think what we should focus on is education and helping those women make better choices.  If the anti-abortion movement put all their resources into that I think they would save alot more babies.

No.  However, the arguement raised by myself and Lynn is that the child (baby, fetus, whatever you want to call it) is not the mother's body, but a different person.  As a man myself, I used to have your view on abortion.  Education and life experience has changed my views.  Yes education is important, but my arguement here is that abortion is legalised murder.  I can understand shooting a person on a murderous rampage.  I understand killing enemy combatants (though some wars are fought for no, or the wrong reasons).  I can even understand ending the life of a helpless child in the event of extremely high risk situations.  But the fact is that 80% of abortions are performed strictly as a means of birth control.  This is unacceptable.  Seriously, once a woman is old enough to have sex, doesn't she know that becoming pregnant is a potential outcome of doing it?  And I don't want to hear the whole rape arguement, because I have a friend who was concieved due to rape.  His birth mother gave him up for adoption.  He does not feel like he would rather not have been born.

I'm familiar with the story you are refering to.  This happened in an Illionois (forgive the spelling if i'm wrong) hospital.  The state senate passed legislation to ban such activity, no thanks to Barry O.  This legislation passed twice depite the fact Obama voted twice against it.  I can't remember off hand if these votes were "No" or "Present", but either way, a "Present" vote is a "No" vote with reasons.

By the way, the braces comment is absolutely laughable.  You have to realise that I'm argueing against murder, not crooked teeth!

I realize that you are a man now, so by all means...grab your rubbers before you get some.

If you want to prove this point, don't use braces as an example. The comparison is so irrelevant, and superficial as well. You say that education about the subject should be taught in schools??? That is an excuse for parents to pass it off to someone else because they don't want to deal with it. My school taught sex education, and it was an absolute joke. Passing out condoms, and talking about birth-control was just an excuse for premarital sex. My Health teacher told us that losing your virginity was wonderful, but it hurt a great deal. If that is your definition of sex education, that is a crock. Abortion is ultimately a last resort for promiscuous women to get rid of what they call, burden.

That is a great point and line!

"Lynn" is not telling them anything.  The government is.  And it is telling women and men what to do with their bodies every day.  Why repeat the myth?  It has already been debunked.

People go on and on about reproductive rights, but homebirth is slowly becoming illegal.  We're fine with killing the babies, but if you want to have a live baby at home, well that's just wrong.

You can't even legally sell sex, women.  You already can't do what you want with your body.  Never mind that a fetus is NOT your body - it's just IN your body. It has it's own body.  And you cannot choose what to do with that one.

Good points Jythier, wish I had thought about using the homebirth point myself!
