[Suggestion] MiniMap

I really think that there should be a mini map added in the couple of games ive played so far ive noticed many times where a minimap would have saved me

Also another thing is that there needs to be a better IFF system, its too hard to tell who your teamates are and it even harder to tell who the enemy is...

I would aggree with both of those.  There have been a number of times already where I just stopped what I was doing and starting looking around to try and find the minimap.  I've also sat there trying to stun a hero only to realize after several failed attempts that it was a friendly hero.

There needs to be strategic icons if there's a strategic zoom.

Easier way to target heroes as well, it gets annoying when you constantly target random creeps.

I'd say put an icon over heroes' heads with blatant team color trim that doesn't shrik with zoom, and if you target it, you target the hero it belongs to. All problems solved. Whaddya think?

I first also thought a minimap is needed, but then i discovered this zoomlevel, as in supcom

to that i agree, more colors or symbols in maximum zoomlevel, otherwise you see nothing

NO MINIMAP.

NO NO NO NO NO.

There is strategic zoom!  wtf it's like a billion times better than a minimap!

There needs to be icons over Demigods heads that you can click though, that stay a constant size and scale with resolution, yes I agree there..

I don't know if those icons where undone, or if the devs decided to keep out a bunch of icons like supcom as an aesthetic choice.

There needs to be some kind of map. I played a game with DeadMG and spent half the time trying to find his demigod to fight alongside him ><

Icons/names will fix that.  They'd show up on the strategic map.

Did you have troouble seeing experimentals in supcom?

f there is a minimap it should be like diablo2's..  Just be like a faint outline that shows just the enemy demigods.  It shouldn't have all the units on it and stuff with them being rather predictable and the maps not that huge.

should be really lightweight of a minimap if there is one.. not an opaque box/circle.

Any option that allows me to see what my demigod is doing and having happen to him, while being able to view the rest of the visable ground would be a huge plus.

I agree that it's near impossible to tell which demigod is from which team, I found myself having to constantly check which is quite annoying if I can't instantly tell they are an enemy. Theres broken information lines there which need to be fixed.

I think there definately needs to be an easier way to target the enemy heroes, the small hero caster is a pain to click on if there a load of creeps about. Perhaps a floaty team icon above there head or something.

Why can't there be both? In my opinion, the strategic zoom is useless, and just cosmetic. Others like yourself might think it's essential to the game

The minimap is infinitely useful- good for spotting a hero quick, getting an overview of a lane, and even specifically like clicking on the minimap where a building is to use a teleport scroll on it (as opposed to manually scrolling over to the building then clicking on it).

Yep, a lot of people in this thread say that something along those lines would be right, and there's a thread in the other subforum where it came up.

I agree 100% we need a minimap...I made a post in the beta suggestion forum (this is the general one, heh) about that myself...Listed a few of my reasons there.

Minimap would be okay, I guess, but it can be distracting and not informative enough. I'd much rather not have it, but if there's an option I won't care.

Once you get used to the strategic zoom, and when units are iconified correctly, you will find the mini map to be much less useful. The same thinking happened in SupComm and there used to be a mini-map in the early betas but as time went on, players stopped using it ;-).  I am sure we will find a similar thing here.

Yeah, once you get used to strategic zoom, you barely notice there isn't a minimap.

P.S ROOK IS IMBA

No, the rook isn't imba. Stun is. If stun stops being imba, then rook will too. Until then, sure, but it's better to cut straight to the source of the imba.
