Inserting Pictures

A "newbie" question: How does one insert a jpeg, bmp or png in a post? The small red bordered window that opens requests a URL, but if the file is located on my HDD how do I proceed? I typed in the path (C:...\DrJ\Pictures\....) but got a broken picture icon.

What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks for any suggestions/help. |-)

The image you want to display must be uploaded to a site like photobucket, etc. Then you can post it.

Or ImageShack which takes a second or two to visit, upload and get the link. It's necessary that you scroll down the page to the last text box and copy the direct link to the image :thumbsup:
