I agree, but I'm thinking people from McCain's own party, ........the very conservative (hardcore) evangelicals.
I am, as it so happens, one of those conservative evangelicals. We believe that the Bible teaches that we all sinners, we all make mistakes, and can all get forgiveness. No one is better than anyone else, but one must take responsibility for their own actions. Everyone is also responsible for their own actions, not those of anyone else.
Sarah's daughter shouldn't have gotten pregnant outside of wedlock, but she did, she and the father appear to be doing their best to make it right. People make mistakes, they are doing the right thing, so no big deal.
Why do people get the strange idea that we expect everyone else to be perfect when our doctrines say exactly the opposite?
