Resuggestion Regulus

Firstly, let me apologize for shamelessly advertising my ideas.

 

From what I've seen, the powers of Regulus, didn't seem very interesting; they were pretty bland. Oh yes, they probably wont make him UP, but they are so "vanilla", so to speak.

Since he probably lacks high armour or lots of hp, so he needs some decent crowd control spells to be able to compete.Suggestion: give him a balloon, sorta like a jetpack mounted on his back. When he uses this power he flies for a short amount of time, giving him the advanage that only archers can hit him and he will be able to fly over gaps in maps; changing lanes. Obviously, it needs a high mana cost, and CD. Fluffwise it makes sense, he was an angel, and lost his wings, he uses man made tech to cover for his disadvantage.


A second thing I would suggest are smoke bombs/ mines. If these trigger the it leaves fog of war(or some smoke animation) for everyone save the Regulus player (he has goggles afterall) for a 5-10 secs in the area; not the whole map. The other player(s) can see their own units like strategic icons, they can't see other units, in the confusion regulus can run away, however, if the other players guess right they can follow him; when the smoke clears...

And Thirdily:P.

Give him harpoon ability: if he uses this, he shoot an harpoon. When it hits the target can only walk to Regulus, but wont be able to walkaway from him since the rope of the harpoon stops him. Great for killing runners:-). If the target tries to run away from regulus, his movement will be downed by 70 procent.

I was planning on posting somethign about skills.. but i'm waiting until the beta, after I've tried them for a few dozen hours each.

I think I'll reserve judgement too, but that would be neat. I'll keep that in mind if I'm not satisfied by the beta abilities.

I think they're all pretty plain for all classes.. they're basic cookie cutter skills.  I hope for more original and "neater" ones across the board.

Meh, some are ok or good. Reguluus really stands out, though.

Hmm, I really like the smoke idea. The other two are meh, but smoke would be interesting. Also, I think it'd be nice to further emphasize his two skillsets, sniper and minelayer, by adding different skills. Perhaps tweak it so the player has to choose bewteen maxing out one path or being mediocre at both (something like a skill cap would do the trick)?

It's is only the second day of the beta, yes, But I still thinks regulus stand on his own, being able to take out torchbearer easily and hold his own against  rook. here's a hint (dont get mines!). just focus on his AS and damage, it makes him a lot better. Also, I think the mines could be improved in the smoke sort of way, so I agree with that.
