Me too! I don't understand what "obscurity issue" might mean, (LOL...that means what you wrote was obscure [to me]) but hey! the obscurer the better, I say.
To successfully and sufficiently 'partly obscure' a wallpaper to prevent its re-use as a wallpaper through extraction....the 'subject' of the wall needs to be partly covered with windows, icons, etc.
If you only cover blank bits of wall it's a very simple process to 'remove' the icons, etc.
Just checked it.
It would take Blind Freddie with MSPaint about 5 minutes to extract the wall from that screenshot...;)
I had this happen once, it's very easy to fix. What is needed is that the ScreenShot needs to not allow someone to download it and then crop the wallpaper and use it. Having DesktopX Widgets and Objects or a window open on the desktop usually will prevent that. Make a few changes and try again.

What does that mean? Sounds like an insult to me...
Duke...Step back a bit and take a deep breath. He's only telling you that anyone with a graphics prog can "rip" the wall from your shot. Take a look at any of my SS's...you'll notice that there is usually a window open obscuring some of the wall. The ONLY reason that window is there is so it will fit in with the guidelines. Like Jafo said, it's so someone can't extract the wall from your SS.
- I download your screenshot.
- I open it in paint
- I match the color of the blue background
- I paint over the icons
- I select the "core" background and cut it out
- I paste in on a new blue background
- Look! New wallpaper used without permission!

If this is the case, then yeah, unfortunately the shot should be rejected to protect the work of the original wall artist Duke! This is not an insult or a direct attack on your setups.
:p

Fine...guidelines are guidelines. Case closed...it is no big deal! However; since I gave the name & artist, just go look it up and download it & save yourself all the trouble of the above procedure!
I think the guidelines are more so to protect walls that people charge for Duke.
This is all about integrity Sir Duke, something you have plenty of!
:CONGRAT:
Duke261...
This is about artists' copyright, nothing more.
If the artist has the wall downloadable from whatever site it is HIS decision to do so...and knowing where he put it can equally access it to have it removed if he so wishes.
When someone uploads the image [unencumbered] as a screenshot on a site likely to be totally unknown to the artist it means the image has been distributed and made available for distribution...without the artist's consent or knowledge...and that is specifically what copyright is about.
This particular wall image really was easy to extract...even at 3am, my time....;)
Once it's on the net, you can't take it back. You can never take it back...never. We need some pirates in here...this thread is asking for a hijacking.
Duke261 ....no, nothing of the sort. Yours was a reasonable question regarding a screenshot rejection and the respondents have explained the reasoning for that rejection, nothing more.
There's no conflict at all...;)
Sorry, monkey, I 'aves a bad back t'day.... p'raps ye could git t' monkeyin' around - like swingin' frum tha rafters n' throwin' food - while I recuperates. ;p
That is an insult. I can't believe you would even suggest such a thing you stodgy bastage...I don't throw food. That would be wasteful. I prefer to throw something more "green" if you will... ;p
Orright then, swing frum the rafters n' hurl gorilla snot if ye must, but someone needs t' 'old tha fort so's us can come pillage it later.
Not even rotten food? Well, I can see ye 'aven't enjoyed tha sheer pleshure o' throwin' over ripe tomaters at tha King's men.
