Do Lawyers run our Country?

Frightening but true

Are lawyers running our country? you be the judge in this case I lay out.

Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton are lawyers. Bill Clinton and John Edwards are lawyers. Al Gore went to law school but failed to graduate {something that somehow never gets mentioned by the main stream media}. Gerald Ford, was a Lawyer who left office 31 years years ago was also a lawyer and the only Republican among the bunch.

The natural consequences of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers, is that pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurants chains, large retail chains, bankers and anyone else producing anything of value to our nation is view as the "ENEMY"!

Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always "Phrase" language to favor their side.

When politicians, as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system becomes corrupt. Some Americans become "adverse parties" of our government. We are not all litigants of some vast social class-action suit, We are citizens of a republic that has PROMISED us a great deal of freedom from laws, courts and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws, we are contorted by judicial decisions, and we are driven to distraction by the ever present lawyers sticking their face in all parts of our lives, public and private. Lawyers do have a place in our society, but not as vast and unchecked as it has become!

When one of the most important decisions our next president will be is who will he appoint to SCOTUS, the role of lawyers and the law in America has gotten to great.

We cannot expect the "Lawyers Party" to provide us with real change, real reform or real hope in America. Most Americans know that almost every MAJOR government action must be "blessed" by nine unelected judges is NOT what the constitution intended in 1789.

The framers of our constitution made the president "COMMANDER-IN CHIEF of our armed forces, keeping ultimate power OUT of the hands of military professionals. MOST Americans understand that we cannot fight a war when lawsuits are being used to try to stop the Commander-in chief from carrying out his duty.

In the Lawyers Party our children are being taught in public school to to mock and scorn men who create wealth. The Lawyers party sees these people who provide goods and services that we the people want and need as "ENEMIES OF AMERICA". Oddly enough most of the campaign money they get comes from where else? Other lawyers!.

There is much that is hypocritical in the lawyers party, for a single instance Richard "Dickie" Scruggs,  a prominent lawyer who took on "big Tobacco", Asbestos and insurance companies was sentenced this last Friday to five years in prison for his role in trying to bribe a judge {another lawyer} Scruggs earned hundreds of millions of dollars, much like our friend from the lawyers party John Edwards. Both these men pretended to have these wonderful role model personal lives but under it all the lawyer came through, when they could not win fair they would resort to cheating the very system the helped create.

As a result. increasing numbers of our citizens do NOT VOTE! WE keep forgetting ultimate power lies with us.. the common people, we need desperately to vote OUT these lifetime politicians and keep lawyers from ruining our country.

Case in point.  Federal prosecutor in the Mile High morass decided a few years ago that the counties here in the colorful state were too lenient with gun violations.  He demanded that any blotter entry involving firearms be forwarded to his exalted office so he could decide if HE would prosecute under federal statutes any case he deemed was handled too "leniently".  The result was mass confusion.  When he later ran for the Senate, he was dumbfounded to learn that the less than left majority of people who live outside the morasses of the colorful stare remembered what an over-reaching, fame-seeking, name-making, mis-conducting prosecutor he was and landslided him right out of public life.  But I drift.

During all the hooplah about who would and who wouldn't be prosecuted for gun offenses, I called several agencies around the state seeking a digest of existing gun laws at each level of government.  Know what?  Such of a thing doesn't exist.  There are hundreds of thousands of gun owners here, maybe millions, and not one of them can confidently move a weapone from one county to the next because there is no information available to guide us on the proper transport, display, or even carry of long guns, or shot guns or pistols.  Thank you lawyers at every level of government for creating such a stinking pile of crap.

Great article, MM.

Yes - Yale Graduate.  Both were getting their MBA.  The difference was very small.  But still, it showed that Kerry was no smarter - regardless of the claims - than Bush in SCHOOL.  As we saw in 2004, Bush was a lot smarter with what he did with his degree than Kerry has been. (Except for the part about Marrying Money - Kerry did that twice).

I could not agree more.  As I have said numerous times here and elsewhere, and I will continue to say, VOTE AGAINST INCUMBENTS!  No one in any elected office should be re-elected in this upcoming election.  We need to send a very clear message to ALL elected officials: "They work for us, not their self interests, not the lobbyist, not the special interests, but for us."  Maybe if we are able to kick out a majority of elected officials they will start to remember who they work for and actually start listening to us.

This is typical. 1/2 laws, so lawyers can getback into court to make full laws, making more money, the laws will get overturned, which will get lawyers back into court again making them even more money.

Yes this is true, but another fact that somehow was lost in the election of 2004, while the MSM was busy creating lies about Bush they could not let facts get in their way about Hanoijohn.

I did not notice you had already answered the question posed, but why am I not surprised two magnificent minds such as ours would think alike?

Don't worry about whether America has the balls to do it, start by convincing individuals to do it.  I have a couple of bumper stickers on my car related to this issue hopefully someone will get the message.  Just try to get one person at a time to see the light and maybe one of these days people will realize that there are more than two choices in any election.

IN corporations (those evil things) it is kind of a poison pill.  If the company gets bought out, the upper management gets a very very nice severance.

With COngress, all they need to do is get elected (and not convicted) once to get the retirement and other benefits that make the "rich CEOs" look like pikers.  I am sure you have heard of congressmen who get 150% of their salary in retirement.  LIke us "real" people would ever have a plan like that.
