Metaverse ranking gigantic / suicide win in 0 years

I did see in the top ranking empires people played suicide level gigantic universes and win a military victory  in 0 years. i really wonder how this is possible without cheating....

It's easy. You just need years of Galciv2 experience and to practice the techniques 200-300 times on smaller galaxy sizes, as far as I can tell :). Sorry for the sarcastic answer, but the truth is that these players were very good to start with, then put an enormous amount of work into working outthe details of how to play such games with mathematical precision. There is nothing untoward about it. They are just that good.

I haven't payed that much attention to the methodology but I'm pretty sure it involves a limited number of opponents that you basically rush and eliminate very quickly.

It's a way to play that requires a certain set of skills. Some people enjoy playing that way and others don't.

It's simply one of many different ways to play the game.

What you would be seeing is what is referred to as a ZYW (Zero Year Win). Check out this thread for more information:

Getting a ZYW isn't hard. Getting one with scores near to the 'record holders' however is. Are those people more skilled? I'd argue no. I'm on the list and bumped off someone who I'd say is more skilled in this game than I. I just got lucky with the map.

These people you speak of, they receive alien brainwaves for fifteen minutes at a time, allowing their brains to function at 300% of normal just long enough to deftly defeat the hardest of AIs :) .

You know Chuck, I was thinking BS myself before I personally did it. Not on a gigantic (Yet), but I've done tiny up to and including Huge. It takes practice and fairly precise methodology, but it can be done my friend. Feel free to try. There's a monster thread dedicated to it and several genius players that are more than happy to provide info.

It's a very nice experiment in bending the rules or getting the most out of the existing set of rules. And I can somehow understand people who always try to break that previous record.
But in terms of pure gameplay it isn't nearly as fun as a "regular" game imho. Still, the techniques and strategy used in ZYW can to some extent be applied in those regular games and the way of thinking helped me to speed up my early game phases a lot.
