How to do to conquer a rebel planet?

I was at war with the Drengin Empire. After defeating the space ships that was in guard of the planet I send a troop transport to that planet. The transport is not enable to bomb or land and I receive the message:

“The patriots of the star system Kona of the Dregin Empire greet your trade negotiation committee by throwing rotting garbage and insults. The Committee Members barely escape with their lives and their merchandise and decide to try a star system with is not at war with the Terran Alliance.”


If I try with any of the others planets of the Dregin Empire I receive the same message.

So I am stuck.  How do I do to conquer the planet?

It sounds like you're trying to attack with a freighter. Is there a trade module on your "transport"?

That's just an awesome message though...one I never got to see. Makes me wonder how many other 'easter eggs' such as this are in the game. Instead of a simple 'you need a troop transport module to invade this planet', you get a cool RP story.

I knew about it, but I figured just about everyone had made this mistake at one point or another. Although usually what happened to me was I'd autopilot a freighter, then the intended recipient declared war while the freighter was on it's way.

I forgot to say that some turns later, I don’t know how many, I didn’t counted, the impediment ended. When I first write the problem it wasn’t resolved yet!
