The path should look like:
Vista:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods\Mod Name\Mod's GameInfo, etc.

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mod Name\Mod's GameInfo, etc.

Please note that some of these directories are hidden by default. To unhide them, go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View and set yourself to view hidden files and folders.

Loading a mod is under the options screen from the main menu. Last button on the left.

Oh, I see now. The map .galaxy files actually go in:

C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy

Sorry 'bout that.

What version of the game do you have?

beta version.....

If you're running the 1.1 beta, make sure the Version is 2 at the top of the map file.

ok i made it verson 2, where would it be located - i looked for it in the maps sections and the mod just in case but it didn't show up

It should be among all the other maps, not the "Custom maps" tab.

The one updated for 1.05? No, no patch.

Maybe you could upload the file and I'll see if I can get it working when I get home (About 12 hours before I can get time on my comp.) if nobody else has a suggestion.

Ok, ive done some tests to see if any of it would come up.... i looked at my GF version and it said V1.0 i think it is the latest version i am not sure..... i tried setting up the setting exactly like the other "Main Maps" and it just won't take... i dont know if the beta supports GF yet or not, but anyhow if someone would like to see if they can get my Test.galaxy file to work go ahead... i dont want to upload it since its only a test

Also - when i open files of the main maps in my GF v1.0 i get a blank page with nothing on it.... i tried to upload the beginners map and it did the same thing i wonder if i have to create a special file for it all to work out on - the only maps that will load on it are the owns i made with it :(

Also Again - when i open the properties menu from the main maps to my mas... on the details tab the main map is attribute A and my map is attribute AN.. i wonder if this has to do with any of it

No idea. If you download the forge tools from the downloads tab here and make a quick thing, can you see it?
I figured out the attribute crap... the A is for Galaxy map and the AN is for the Galaxy MOD...... so some how it differincates wether it will be a "Mod" or "Galaxy"... supposedly

I was kinda hoping reply #17 meant you had it working...

Anyways, I'm kinda outta answers at the moment, save you uploading and someone else seeing if they can get it to work.
