Impulse Phase 2 Preview

And what it means for Sinners...

Impulse_App_MyDesktopIn June we launched our next-generation digital distribution platform, Impulse.  And in July, we released the beta of the mega update to Sins of a Solar Empire that Ironclad has been working long and hard on.  There's been a lot of talk about Impulse (pro and con) since then.

Our tentative date for the final version of Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 is mid September. We want to have plenty of time to address your feedback and Ironclad has been doing a great job in implementing features and adding content to the game (feel free to give the Ironclad team some kudos in the forums, they'd love to hear some positive feedback on this free,  huge, update).

One of the big goals of Sins v1.1 is to greatly ease on-line play in terms of connectivity.  This is something we're working on with Impulse which will support game-listing, achievements, rankings, and the rest and allow developers to query this data and display in game.

all this self-congratulatory noise about how great they are with support and I swear I just spent the last hour trying to find some way of knowing what the version of my Sins of a Solar Empire is so that I can know whether to download the upgrade

wow

anyway, if anyone can tell me how to do this, i'd be thankful

Two ways. First is to boot up the game and check the bottom right corner, and second is to look at the second line under the sins title info in Impulse. Impulse also generally shows whether updates are available with an exclamation mark next to the app.

You'll need to use the blue orb menu's option to show pre-release versions to get 1.09 (1.1 beta)

Seriously? They were very good with support with me when I had a problem. Either I'm really lucky or your really unlucky... ;)

You can always find your current version in the lower right corner of the main menu in the game.

Thank you all. I got it sorted now.

And man, I must have been unduly frustrated when I wrote that above message. Talk about having a fit, lol.
