Racial Medal - Is it still possible?

I completed games with all the stock races with one of my characters, and the medal did not show up. This was sometime within the last 2 months. Perhaps it doesnt work anymore.

I vaguely remember a conversation about this not long after DA came out. IIRC, You could get it with DL, and either it wasn't working for DA, or you just had to use the ten original races to get it. Have no idea about TA. Sorry for the abstract answer, but the discussion I'm referencing was a long time ago.

I'm playing TA, and I got it within the last month. I'm not sure what races are required, I think I played all except the Korath.

Actually I was trying to get it with a character that I'm about to clear because IIRC that medal survives a character reset but I couldn't seem to get it by posting a few defeats to finish up the races and it wasn't worth the effort of posting victories to a character I was about to reset. I did use all of the DL races including custom, but like I said perhaps the racial medal requires that you actually *win* with all of the races.

In any case I did wait to see if it showed up and it didn't seem to so I just went ahead and reset the character anyway.

Indeed Mumble it is a win that is required for the medal. You could always play a few cakewalk games to get the medal and then reset again. I got mine through a mixture of DL and DA.

I know you dont like the strategy Mumble, but you could also do ZYWs to get the medal. Thats what I did, although it didnt show up for me. I'm not sure why exactly... I did every stock race, and I definitely have some DL games with that character. :NOTSURE:

Did you do the Custom race also KP.You need it as well.

Actually I don't even know how to do a 15 minute ZYW. I suppose I could figure it out but it really isn't worth the trouble. Like I said it's for my Toshiro Mifune character that I was about to reset and I've already gone ahead and reset him.

I'm actually giving one more try at getting 1M in DL and I need a fresh character for the attempt. The primary change I'm adding to my previous strategy involves getting a large number of Hyperion Shrinkers. The problem is that I'm fairly well convinced that Mag got cheat flagged on a game last year due to an excessively high miniaturization level.

With a fresh character I can make the attempt and if it gets cheat flagged then I can simply reset it again and not lose anything valuable.

I humbly disagree, unless something has changed, you don't need to use a custom race to get the racial medal. I got mine playing DA with each race except for Krynn, Korath and custom.

While we're on the subject of medals, is it still necessary to play DL to get a favorite race emblem? I know in DA you couldn't get it but Ive noticed some characters with them and no DL games. Does TA give them now?

I dont know if I did the custom race, hmmm...

It doesnt look certain if I need it, but I might as well do it and see if the medal shows up. A ZYW only takes 10 minutes in any case.

IIRC and i think i do...ya need all the races (minus Krynn & Korath) and the custom.
Whether the Krynn and Korath can be substituted in for two other races...i don't know..

I have the medal and have never played a custom race, you can check my profile.

I do not think you can substitute the Krynn or the Korath. I think the medal just doesn't recognize them.

Now, does anyone know about the Favorite Race emblems?

I got it about 3 weeks ago. You gotta do all races that existed in DL and perhaps custom. But you can play those races in any expansion. I did my last 2 in TA and I got the medal.


It's a sexy medal. Green is my favorite color ;D
