Where is the Political Machine(original) serial #?

I have the box, booklet, case, and cd, but cant find it anywhere. Can anyone help, cuz i want to get the update for it!

The serial number for my retail purchased game was inside of the DVD style box, as a sticker above where the CD/DVD sits in the box.

There isn't one. Yes, this means the update is currently unexcessable, although I understand the Stardock folks are considering other options.
