Team Combo's

I was just thinking that it would be nice if for exemple 2 Torchbearer could do a special combo or something like that. Just put's a extra dimension to team play if some combonations have a extra bonus or special move/spell.

It would be nice if there was some potential for synergy between demigods, so it would be more of a team effort to achieve max effectiveness. This does have a downside of pressuring people to play specific demigods, rather than what they may have wanted, but if the synergies are of the "beneficial but not required" type, it shouldn't matter too much.

On principle, since Demigod aims to be a team game, I would say it'd be nice if a put together team got a little edge over everyone just randoming.

I don't think you'll see combo's, but there will most likely be spells that work well together

Combos are basically synergy which is good. As long as a particular synergy isn't so strong it creates a biased choice at the god selection screen. That would mean over powered combination's. I feel these types of balance's will be the hardest to fix and notice.

bad example

Me and my partner are both at max range of another hero, i stun, then she traps her in ice. while we alternate beating on her. shouldn't be a kill. Not unless we haft to chase her down and risk death ourselves in enemy territory. - it would be a very poor gank attempt

good example

Im at max range, i stun her, my partner comes out of her fog of war from beside her and starts wailing on her, then traps her in ice, as i run up and start wailing on her. this should kill her. the difference you ask?

2 heroes at max range shouldn't do enough damage or do enough damage to stun her, then run all the way up to her. and still be able to kill her.

In the 2nd scenario the 2nd hero was already in hitting distance when he popped out. meaning he isnt losing stun time, while hes trying to run up to hit her.

the problem

Finding out which are good combos/synergy's without being over powered. and unfortunately the only way to do that is to test them out repeatedly and see how many kills were skilled. how many were luck, and how many shouldn't have killed her. and try to figure a way to balance it.

Its all a question of balance. If every member of your team picks a demigod with a stun ability (and I'd hope that not all demi's get one), then sure, you should be able to stun lock any opposing enemy demi god to get the easy kill. This is an easy kill and some teams may be inclined to min/max to get this type of combo. However, they are giving up that skill slot for stunning that could be used for something else. Perhaps an AOE nuke, a buffing aura, etc etc. The way the team uses their skills together is not only synergy, but teamwork. Good teamwork will always win regardless of the balance.

The thing to be on the lookout for are unbeatable combinations. Or in other words, if team 1 with demigods a,b,c, & d play together they are unbeatable regardless of the opposing teams skill/teamwork. It will take sometime before this becomes an issue simply because player skill (or lack thereof) will be the overriding element.

Skills working together are good(IE one person demigod has a vortex that sucks units towards it, another one has a powerful small radius AoE that they use after everything is sucked in close).

Two demigods performing combos like you described is not.

Yeah basically this. We don't need chrono trigger style combos in a multiplayer game. =P
