WASHINGTON - Teresa Heinz Kerry told a newspaper she doesn't know if Laura Bush has ever had "a real job." She apologized Wednesday for having forgotten about the first lady's 10-year stint as a schoolteacher and librarian.

I'm going to vote for John Kerry. Let me preface this by saying that. I like Teresa, too. I'll say that as well. But Laura Bush was a teacher and librarian. I'm a teacher, and I'm pursuing a degree in library sciences. So Teresa can kiss my ass. OK?

And then Karen Hughes makes the mistake of trying to put more words in THK's mouth. Ugh.

Should've learned from Kerry's campaign chairwoman & her gaffe after the Mary Cheney thing, not to mention from Cheney himself. Better to just say, "We appreciate the apology. Next question." Some of these political diseases are just too highly contagious, I guess.

This is why I only posted s much as I have - The mistake and the apology - no more - no less. I don't want to be accused of putting words in the mouths of people, or “hyping" the national outcome of a pre-determined electoral outcome.
