question about required internet connection

so I've been snooping around for a while and I'm pretty sure my system can run demigod but what I'm not sure about is my internet connection speed which only runs a 30kb/s at the best of times. I know the result isn't going to be optimal but would I still be able to play demigod bearably online?

Is that upload or download speed? It's a peer-to-peer game so it's going to have more bandwidth requirements than a server/client game.
