Game won't update.

Hi, my game keeps crashing on me so i figured a good way to try and fix it would be to update it but when i start up impulse it gives me the error message "There was a problem beginning the download. Please try again." and then below it it says "The type initializer for 'ak' threw an exception." can someone please help me with this problem? any replies will be greatly appreciated.

You were right for thinking you should update the game if you are experiencing problems with it.  It's definitely a good idea to post here as well.

So the game is crashing and Impulse is crashing too?  What version of Impulse are you running? (Click the ? in the upper right hand corner and go to "about Impulse" to find out).  We'll get some Impulse devs pointed to this thread to see if they can help you.  In the meantime though, you might try uninstalling Impulse and then reinstalling it from the installer located at www.ImpulseDriven.com 

Also, I know you can't currently update the game, but what version of it are you running?  And can you paste the contents of your debug.err file.  It's located at "my documents/my games/polmachine2008/debug.err".  The file can be opened with notepad.  This file will have general system information as well as specific game messages that might help us track down your problem.

Hopefully we can get you sorted out in a jiffy.  Sorry it took us so long to respond to your thread.

having the registration problem, says to click on add new registration button at the bottom right, but there is no such button in the registration area. I have had the game freeze up on me as well, so was hoping to update.

figured out how to register,

right click on a previous game registration and then left click on add registration, fill out the info and select games and then select PM2008 (political machine 2008) and violla registered and you should be able to update...

if you don't have a game, you should be able to just click on the white space where the game reg info should be...
didn't test it but if it doesn't, well then I guess you're SOL...sorry

My game also won't update. It keeps saying in the bottom left statuus bar that it is "Downloading Impulse update -Connecting..." yet never goes farther than that. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Problems with Impulse should be posted in the Impulse section of the forums.  Here's the link: https://forums.politicalmachine.com/forum/457

The Impulse devs read that section daily and should be able to help you guys out.  Check out the pinned posts in that section as you may find a solution there without even having to start your own thread.
