Is being a teacher a real job?

Teresa Kerry. I have no ill feeling against her, but she has recent misspoke of Laura Bush and I want to share. Again, I believe she didn't really mean any harm. Yet how can anyone forget Laura used to be a teacher.... I mean it is mentioned all the times, over and over and over.

What Theresa Kerry said was "Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good," Heinz Kerry said. "But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things."

So, she admits she doesn't know Mrs. Bush and to be honest, she actually compliments her. Teaching is most asuredly a job and having taught in the 1970's myself, call myself an ex-teacher. However, I would say that Mrs. Bush's experience and validation do come from different things than Mrs. Kerry. Remember, Mrs. Kerry doesn't own or run Heinz and has been doing mostly charitalble work and raising children the last 30 years.

The biggest difference between the 2 is that Mrs. Bush is from Texas (with all that implies) and Mrs. Kerry is from the northeast (with all that implies).

Is either of them running for office?

How can she not know Laura was a teacher? I bet most of your friends know and they are not in the election. That is not the issue. I am not even attacking her. I am mostly surprised that she didn't know Laura used to be a teacher because I don't think Teresa would be dumb enough to call "teacher is not a real job". Just surpurised. I would be equally surprised if Laura didn't know Teresa own the Heinz company and she is not borned in USA. Won't you be surprised if Laura Bush said "I don't know if Teresa has ever traveled to another country...."

Mrs Kerry is sorta from northeast, but not really because she is not really grow up from the northeast. For example, I have recently moved from California to Georgia. I think it is technical correct to say I am from Georgia but it implies the wrong information.

I have a great deal of respect and admiration for Laura Bush. In addition to working as an educator, she worked as a public school librarian. Her passion for education and literacy is apparent not only in her words, but also in her life's work. I'm not a big Teresa fan. I don't dislike her neccessarily, but Laura Bush makes her look like day old dog food by comparison.

Theresa Ketchup gave a pretty good apology when she figured out her error, and Laura Bush didn't seem perturbed by it.

Here's the Link

Angloesque, I posted the apology already, why are you doing it again? Have you even read my link? I am not attacking her, how many times I have to say this. I said I am surprised that Teresa didn't know Laura was a teacher for 8 years.

he he he . . . I just fixed a mistake . . . I said Laura Bush worked as a public school library . . . *slaps forehead*

Sorry, I must've copied the link text wrong because I got an error message the first time I looked it up, so I posted an actual link. I know you're not attacking her. Feel free to delete me prior post. And for the record, I didn't know Laura Bush had been a teacher.

Angloesque. Really? I thought everyone knows she worked in the pubicn school library. Kinda of like everyone knows Teresa owes Heinz. I don't mean everyone as in 100%, I mean as in like 90% of the population. I would think somewhere down the line in the election, someone would have informa Teresa about the history of Bush and Cheney and their family. You know, typical inform sessions.

Yeah, you'd think Teresa would get informed. No, I really didn't know what Laura did. I wasn't in the U.S. during the 2000 election, though, which is when I suspect I would've first heard about it. Come to think of it, I almost never hear about her, which is weird since I do follow politics some.

I won't say teaching is the hardest job in the world. I read a National Geographic article about guys in India who dive down into sewer pipes to clean out shit clogs -- my job is a helluva lot easier than that! Plus, we get summers off. But I respect Laura Bush for what she's done, and Teresa (although I like the broad) seems very eager to taste her toes -- she keeps her foot in her mouth a lot.

Texas Wahine,

Yes, I think Laura Bush seems very nice. Kinda of remind me of those "patience" mothers or teachers. You know, George is a lucky fellow to have a wife like her.

In fact, I don't know if anyone remember there has been an election predict contest based on cookies made by the presidential candiates' wives. I believe Laura's cookie beat Teresa's this year. Of course, this is not a sciencific poll . Supposively, the candidate's wife baked the best cookie, he will the election - always. I am unsure if this is true. Anyhow, Laura Bush's cookie won. In fact, Teresa's cookie recepit was so bad that later she said that it is not really her receipt and the Kerry campaign workers made a mistake. Anyway, I might try Laura's cookie later

By the way, you won't able to read Teresa's receipt anymore because it is pulled from the news. Wierd.

We get a weekly Army newspaper that is printed on our base and I remember reading about the cookie contest in the kids' section of it. Do you remember what kind of cookie Laura won with?

No one think Laura has the toughest job in the wholewide world. But the point is that teacher is certainly considered as a job and Teresa accidently forogt about that fact is weird. I believe Teresa didn't know the question of the inteview ahead, but she certainly know the interview will include "How do you compare you to Laura Bush?". Typically, campaign manager will inform candidate before any interview.

Texas Wahine,

I think my link (in the previous post) has the exact receipt for Laura's chocolate oatmeal cookie. Sounds very tasty, but probably unhealthy... with all those chocolate.....
Oh my, I just read her receipt, it seems unhealthy but tasty. Hahahahah. Alot of sugers and eggs and...

I just went to the link, and it does sound really good . . . I don't have the cherries on hand, but I have everything else. I might just make those tonight sans cherries.

Well, I said sort of northeast because she has been living in Washington and Boston with her husband and family and that is "sort of" that area. I understand she spends a considerable amount of time on the road too, hehehe.

Like I said on another blog, the only chance Kerry has is if he keeps his camp muzzled, else people will see how freakishly out-of-step and ignorant of reality that they are. They remind me of French aristocracy before the revolution; full of vision and optimism... and a complete lack of touch with reality...

I am refering the fact that she is not born here and not raised here. It is like saying Hillary Clinton is from New York.... I really don't think average Teresa can represent what average northerneasterns are like. Do you agree?

Sounds like an apt description of Bush and Kerry both.
