How Do I Edit Created Politicians?

I can't find their text files...

All the game's characters like Obama and McCain seem to be in one text file in the "Data" folder.  Where are the created characters?  I can't seem to find them in places where other sources on the internet say they should be.  Can anyone help me?  I want to change their attributes.  If there is an in-game solution to this, do feel free to tell me that as well.  I want to make my created characters better.

Man, now i can't delete the created politicians. Can someone please help me with these issues? This is an awesome game, and I'm not trying to clog the fourms. I'm just trying to get some help...

Created politicians exist in their own folder. Go to your My Documents folder from your desktop then to the My Games folder from there. Click on the folder called PolMachine2008. Then click on the candidates folder. All your guys should be there in xml format...

OK, how does one effect an xml file?  In the original game it was simply a notepad file.  Can you go into the notepad files and create new characters there or will that corrupt the system?
