FRUSTRATED PLAYER: Please help??

I am a big fan of the Game "Political Machine" but I am having a great deal of difficulty with gameplay, and it is getting rather frustrated. I was wondering if anyone can help me with the following issues:

1) My opponent NEVER seems to run ou tof money. He zips along ALL over the map, dropping Advertisments EVERYwhere, and not just newspaper ones but TV and Radio. How in the WORLD can he afford all this?

2) This one is the MOST frustrating: EVERY SINGLE GAME at the 20 week point (Half way there) EVERY UNDECIDED STATE ON THE MAP suddenly swings towards my opponent. How in the world can this happen? Can this be prevented? it happens EVERY Game! It is incredibly frustrating, because it SEVERELY reduces the ammount of work my oppoenet has to do to win the electoral votes. For example, if Bill Clinton is leading in Montana, why the hell should he have to visit, since it is supposedly a Republican Stronghold?

3) Do TV appearances REALLY make a difference? I do well almost EVERY time but it seems ot have no bearing whatsoever on the polls.

4) Does the VP candidate do ANYTHING useful? The answer is not in ANY Documentation! What factors should be included in choosing a VP Candidate?

5) How do you create your own Candidate? The answer is not in ANY Documentation!
6) Is there a comprehensive Strategy guide here or on ANY site on the Web? I have searched everywhere and found nothing.

I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me with my questions. I love the game, but it is becoming pointless to play anymore because it appears computer-operated opponents get a RIDICULOUS advantage.

I've ran into #1, and the only way I can counter is is by, well, cheating myself, oy, but I can't really say I've ran into any of the others, especally that thing about the states swinging to my opponents. If I do, I'll be sure to post them.

I know the VP helps raise awareness in the state you put him in and bordering states. I usually send him to Wyoming because it borders a lot of states that I haven't built HQs in (not worth the 3 ev's)

I have to agree with Ashkihyena, I'm afraid I'm not smart enough myself as far as the game goes to match the computer for money except to use the money cheat code. But, by doing this, the computer at the end of it all will not give you a score.

Tv ads are aired nationally. Everyone in all the states sees them. Cost is a big factor in placing ads of any sort. If you use political capital you can use webmasters to bring down the cost, and operatives to screw up your opponents standing in a variety of ways.

TV Appearances really do count. They can make or break you.

VP location is very important. Three points to your awareness is added in whatever state they are placed in and 1.5+ (I think) to the surrounding states.

Plenty of thread posts I've seen here from people say they wait a few weeks, bring in the money and then after VP pick, then they start campaigning. As for myself, I start placing ads from day one, and place spin doctors, Intimidators, and fixers when I need them to blunt my opponents standings/ratings as much as I can to damage them in key states from the onset and make him/her waste money.

Hope that helps you out a little, Mat.
