My son Michael (number 1 pride and joy) just sent me this great link. The article's well written, and instructions easy to follow. For my fellow skin addicts!

LOL, even if I could delete it, I wouldn't.

I honestly don't remember if it helped that much, or it the changes carried over through upgrades. Not sure if mine is set anymore, might have to check it and compare.

Ok checked the about:config and reset the values, don't really notice a speed-up that much that I can tell.

FF is ported from linux so it stands to reason installing it on the platform it was designed for then it will be noticably fast compared to when it runs in windows,go ahead prove me wrong..*keep in mind i dual boot ubuntu so i know how ff performs inside it* ;) ps: if you decide to try a ubuntu just to see the diff make sure you have dry ice handy or your comp will suffer a serious case of meltdown :d

Isn't this similar to what FasterFox add-on does? I had tried FasterFox for a while. The problem is it can screw up everyone else who is trying to get on... and be compounded by every other person who uses it. Imagine every person who comes on here sending 30 requests at once.

Since Fasterfox constantly requests new files, it can cause many servers to overload much faster than if a person viewing the same content without Fasterfox were to view it.

That is from an article I came across. Fasterfox only sends half the requests of the little tweak you have pointed out.

After reading the article, I felt kind of guilty and got rid of it. I honestly had not noticed much of a difference with it and with PC's just getting faster and faster, I don't know I really need such a tweak.
