Please Test This .dxpack

Hi This is a desktopx object (pack). Please test it before I upload it here, just tell me the memory and cpu usage in ur computer. I want to eliminate anything thats not good or resource hogger.

1. I will reduce size of Sun. and I have prepared comets and cosmic stones but haven't added in this.
2. If required, I will remove script from satellites.
Tell me whats required to make it better. I have worked on it for more than 60hrs over 40 days in relaxed mood! Please test it. Thanks.....

I show an average of 20%-30% cpu use.(I have a low-end PC)so this would work ok for me.It runs pretty smoothly on my machine,no problems running it at all.
I think you could slow down the orbits, seems a bit too fast and they'll be distracting to some people. Also the planet with the ring on it needs to be locked to it's ring,it can be dragged off of it,leaving a broken ring.I knew I could break something,it's my hobby. ;p

You could add rings to one of the smaller planets to fill things out,but I think the blue is a bit too bright, maybe just rock-looking? :D
You did a great job on this! :CONGRAT:

Thanx Wizard for testing it. I will slow down the orbits. I made it fast because I have seen that type in films.
I will lock the planet in its ring.
Thanks again

My DXbulder.exe shot up to about 50% and at the same time dwm.exe 30% +.

I got the same feeling. slowing it down would ease up on cpu.

Also the planet with the ring on it needs to be locked to it's ring

There are a few planets that are not locked. I moved 2 of the smaller ones and they disappeared.

Its looking really good.

Good Job!

Hey hemanherecomes, on my system, 2.4 gig Celeron, cpu usage is pegged at 100%.

I just re-tested it and now that's what I'm getting as well except dwm is only at 20%.
I also wasn't running a DX theme at the time.It jumps to 70% with one in use.

Thanx WeatherBound, Cavan1 and Wizard again.
I got it. I will have to slow it down. And I will also remove some scripts. And I will remove planets rotation on axis too. U guys really helped me because I don't want to make a series of resource hogger objects.
I now know my mistakes. Thanks.. will upload another very soon

Looking good - need to improve saturns rings - they get disassociated from saturn and also need to have the rings overlap saturn in the foreground of saturn and just be behind saturn at the rear.
You will get there,  :)  :CONGRAT: Sorry about the Sri Lankan debacle. :SURPRISED:

OK, I found were they went.

You might want to change the names of some of your planets.

all weather scripts used today are named by #'s like 1 2 3....

some of your planets have the same #,s in them. what happens is the sun in weather object turns in to a planet or visa versa. Your planet could turn into a cloud or sun.

Best bet in making a theme is to name object using not just #'s. Try naming them like Planet 1 and so on.

Just thought you would like to know this.

Thanks Ausvet for testing it. I too tested! it.... Well I don't know what to do when there are little no of scripted objects, everything is fine but as the number increases, It becomes crappy. I will remove script from moons, they will be just static objects with the planet revolving around sun.
And, I will remove a few animations.and will make the ring materialistic.

Or I have one more better alternative idea, I will divide this into several packs.
Like
1.. Sun Mercury Venus
2.. Earth, Mars, Jupiter
3.. saturn, Euranus, Neptune, Pluto
4.. Moons

In this way all the four separately won't be a hogger...and my tag of making 'hogger desktopx skins' will be removed. But thats an alternative idea....

However, I will try to include all in one pack first..And if I fail to do that then alternative idea zindabaad!!! :)

Thanks, I will do that but, What about my 'alternative idea'....

I think if you slow down the planets by itself. it should bring down CPU. not sure by how much though.

If that fails removing some scripts souled also reduce CPU.

If doing both above fails, then I would use you alternative ideas.

DX is very picky at times. My first fusion theme it used a lot of CPU.
I had to redo it and i used the same graphics and all. For some reason CPU went down.
I think in the first theme i did must of had some conflicting bugs in it.

Re making theme might make theme CPU usage go down too.
At least it worked for me.

Ok, I will try to remake it. Hope it works...
I created graphics about 1.5 months ago. Mike gave me the script few days earlier... and I just stopped working on all my other dx skins, only did this....And It takes all skin's resources!!!......

But It's also true while making I felt that when there were fewer objects ... it was very fast..
