Please revamp these forums

So TCC (a SupCom community rep guy) posted on our lovely official SupCom forums (with a DemiGod/Space Siege subsection) and told us all to move here.

Well, sod off.

These forums are SLOW. They are poor to navigate. You have to give a reason for editing your posts, just why? I can't even use quotes or URL tags, there's no forum feedback section, and new posts don't appear right away. I mean, I think they don't, but because after you post it takes you somewhere completely nonsensical and the Demigod general is named completely ambiguously, I'm not entirely sure. Oh, and have I mentioned they are cripplingly slow?

I think you should all come to the forums on GPGNet. http://forums.gaspowered.com . We've got a forum that loads.

I'm sure that upgrades will come in time when traffic improves, meaning when the game starts to get noticed more. You wont get anywhere by ranting but welcome to the forums nonetheless :P

What came first, the chicken or the egg?

What's more likely? Will community improve with a stable system or will a stable system come with a larger community? Who benefits more? A company that wants to make a profit should actively be building their community.

I generally advocate against people whining to companies about every little thing...unless they're completely right and it hurts the fan-base as a whole.

Deadmg, you can quote and hotlink URLs, but you are completely right about the forums being too slow.

The egg came first since dinosaurs laid eggs before chickens ever existed.

A good system encourages the community to be active. The forums don't need to be awesome, but making them "better than the current system" would be good.

Once you are loggeg in, the speed is "ok". Not great, but ok. :)

Ah yes, but when we are being asked to come here instead of GPG's forums, as if we are making a mess there, these forums should be equal to if not better. The aesthetic design is poor too. Then add in all the other things too, like very poor navigation, speed, lack of generic BBCode tags.

I agree that the forums could use some work, but it isn't as if you are being kicked off the GPG forums, there wouldn't be a Demigod section if they didn't intend for you to use it. I think that they are merely suggesting you use this site to check up on information and to get the community going, not that you must abandon the GPG forums completely and take up residence here.

They are "requesting that everyone start migrating to the Official Demigod Forum" here at Stardock. So they aren't just suggesting that we check for news here, they are telling us to start leaving the GPG forums.

Perhaps they mean that you should come here and stay there also, did they say that they would close those forums?

now that i logged in they aren't too bad. Before that it was like being back in the day web surfing with a 14.4

I wasn't sold on the new forums...until I found out they are built into impulse. Makes my life easier...

My biggest gripe is I always end up not reading the original post. It's formatted differently than the replies and my eye just skips right over it.
