not pleased

I have paid my €uros to download and install GalCiv 2 with all expansions, and what do I find?

I have to download and install a software I do not want, and I have no say in where GalCiv gets installed.

Seriously guys.
It makes me ponder if it just might be better to go out hunt down a torrentfile with the Arnor-expansion so I won't have to clutter my system with items I don't want and what is installed is installed where I want it.

Or at least -MOST- goes where it ought to.

Savegames, options and other such things still goes to the wrong drive.
It is however a minor part of the software so it doesn't clutter up my C-drive too badly.

Threatening warez won't get you anywhere except the exit.

If you open Impulse and click on the Stardock orb in the upper left, you can go into the preferences and set where you want the games/programs to install.

Because of me mentioning that I ponder the alternative of finding a different way of acquiring a set of the game that I have already bought I would get nowhere but the exit.
Then you turn around and addressed one of the issues in the original post.
Fascinating.

I would have been immensely more pleased if I could have downloaded a set of .img files (or a very large one), burned them to a set of CD's (or a DVD) and installed them that way. And I would have preferred if I wouldn't have been forced to download additional, publisher-specific, software to acquire the game.

What you didn't address was the location of the savefiles and such. I assume there is no mod to the game that addresses that issue, or that if it exist it is an issue for a more appropriate section of this forum. I'll inquire there about it.

Thank you for your time and response.

Part of the Games for Windows certification is that saved game data and such reside in a specific place.  I am unaware of any mods for that.  You can try posting at forums.galciv2.com.  Someone there may be able to assist.

The community here is very sensitive to intellectual property in addition to individual security.  "Alternative download methods" like torrents are abhorrent for those reasons and we tend to react poorly to such suggestions.

I hope my reply helps.  If not, you can contact Stardock through the official email channel; [email protected]

you can archive the file onto a CD if you want, but you can install impulse on a different drive as well as the programs on a different drive, making the overall impact on your C drive very negligible. You will also have a VERY hard time finding a digital download service that does not require you to download a platform to install your games with.

The download service is not required to remain on your system after the download. You can use it to download your purchase then uninstall Impulse if you like. Impulse does not contain any adware or malware, only a store. It is also free to use and download.

As Bebi said it is rude to suggest that stealing our game while asking for help. As a paying customer I would gladly give you all the assistance I can to make sure you can download, update, and play your game.

Also as Hankers said you can contact support offically at [email protected].

I look forward to helping you.
