Ah yes, "mid-July" there should be a wiki on this one me thinks:

Mid. short for *Middle or describing the **Median of the Month

*Middle of:
31 Days < /2 = 15.5 D >> 16th July
=
744 Hrs < /2 = 372 H >> 372nd hour into July

**Median:
Can be stated as a rough reference or approxiamtion Deadline which can be crossed leaving this

+/- 4 Days from July 16 th ;

July 16th is in the 3rd week of July. Assume that the 1.1 Beta is out between mid 2nd July week and mid 3rd July week

Either 16 - 4 = release date July 12th
or 16 + 4 = release date June 20th

All me can do now is mean that they mean my kind of Mid :d
testing 1.1 Beta since Mid...

True Story: The more "unofficial patch countdown" posts detected on the forums, the slower the devs work.

You may find this odd but think about it.

Devs brains are wired diffrently from everyone else's. First the brain commands their bodys to slowly release a substance which imporves performance and makes the person feel pleasure (like endorphine or whatever thats called). In oder to get this to release faster devs have to get more work done on the game.

Unfortuantly for us, the faster they work another drug is released called "anti-fun".
Anti-fun is nasty stuff and casues devs to make stupid mistakes like null pointer crashes, and programming in COBOL... Thus devs have to balance thier work to maintain "pleasure" and keep thier work at a good level of quality.

There is another facter though. The number of posts like this on the internet. In the old days the devs had to manualy search for them but now, thanks to google, they use a specialy set up computer with a big screen to display the number.

The number of posts on that screen directly effects the release of the chemical that they like (the pleasure one). This means they can work slower with less pain and mistakes. Unfortuantly this means the patch comes out slower also. So please refaine from such posts in the future because I want the patch as soon as possible.

(At least, thats what I read on WikiPedia...)

So not funny.

3 more days! (till the 20th)

Oh, by the way, Kryo said that the actual patch was supposed to be out in mid-July, not the Beta. I think they're behind...

Sorry, it was Yarlen, actually: "The next major update for Sins of a Solar Empire is coming in mid-July!"

So not funny.

Bah. You come up with a better one.

From the beta changelog thread:
This beta update will be available only through Stardock's new Impulse platform sometime in mid-July.

I'm still hoping for today. I've been holding off starting a new game looking forward to this patch to improve the game.

I used to have a boss that asked when projects  were due after I had given him dates.  One time, I said "two weeks".  After one week he asked when it was going to be done.  In a fit of frustration I told him that it would be two weeks from each time he asked.  He stopped asking.  :)

For those of you who are familiar with the Unreal Tournament community, in which case this might make some comical sense:

"Two weeks!"

Way to stick it to the man, Zubaz :p

On the bright side, nobody here is really asking - we're just wildly guessing :)

If you ask a developer if the project will be ready before Duke Nuken Forever and he hesitates at all. Worry.

its one thing to leave a lot of people unable to host on the lobby, its another thing to mess with my head about the patch release!

i want the patch A.S.A.P! btw: it's freaking 'past' MID-JULY!

Hee hee... the word patch is starting to remind me of the word spam.

Spam spam spam eggs and spamspam with a side of spam.

LOL

Who ever called it a patch should have instead called it a "Band-aid" or "Plaster" for imense amusement.

My game has grased it's knee!

The v4.24.63.1b Band-aid is comeing out next week and will fix knee graseing issues.

It's past the exact middle of July, but I would assert that it is still mid-July and will remain so until after, say, the 20th. I really, really want the patch, too, but I'm not going to antagonize the developers.

...really, really, really....

Grr when is it coming, Im about to Partion my hard drive so the only program on my PC is Sins! (For perforance and that way all 3 GB of the program is stored in RAM :P
Reply #24 Top
Yes....yes I was waiting on this post. Possibly an answer or driblet from IC?

Antagonize?? Dude I'm just hyping up the site and Impulse and their game... Antagonising would be if i said:

I've been playing SP in SOASE more and more and try MP once everytime I play, but the inet MP is so buggy that i first thought this is a crappy beta MP. But i didn'T say that. Because that would be being an ass.

They stated mid July and all I was doing is stating my opinion on when i thought mid July is. So no harm meant to any of the Devs; they did an awesome job on the 3d and 2d engine anims and everything else. Just the gameplay in MP needs to be brushed up, and the patch i hope will do that :) (cause then SOASE would seriously be in my and probably alot of gamers' TOP 5 Space Strategy)

If the Beta holds up what it promises, from the MP side i think we'll all be playing SOASE MP alot more.
