Anyone Else Tired Of "JESUS" articles?

Anyone Else Tired Of "JESUS" articles?

While I find the man himself an interesting character be he for real or just made up stories for the masses. The message left from the stories about him are indeed good ones, love thy neighbor, be of good character, be humble, Etc!

While the deeds done in his name have not followed any of his teachings, The inquisition, the crusades, the discrimination of the Jews; the huge split among the Christians themselves into many, many fractions, all of them believing theirs is the only way to G-ds door! what Bullshit!

I have seen so many articles on Jesus, none of them can even agree with themselves, each Christian having their own view on how Jesus wants them to be! If Jesus exists he is pulling his hair out in shame at how Christians behave.

The seventh Day adventist declares the southern baptists is a heretic, the Catholic says the Apostolic is nuts and on and on!

Please stoPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one knows for sure if Jesus is the son of G-d for SURE! Stop saying he is!

...and here's a little something about that.

“It’s Not Easy Being Everyone’s
Raison D’Etre”

You just can’t understand
the pressure
the expectation

everyone claiming you
wanting a piece of you

the Jews claim me
as one of theirs own
but you know how
that all ended up

and the Christians
think they’re all doing things
in my name

the Muslims call me
a prophet
but still subordinate me

the Buddhists draw parallels
and come closer than most

and the atheists love me
because they find their strongest arguments
in my weakest followers

I’m tired of being everyone’s
raison d’etre

it’s lonely
being the leader of it all

does anyone just say
“here’s a beautiful rose
I grew for you”

“listen to this song
your story inspired”

“do you need someone
to talk to, Jesus?”
I’m tired of everyone asking me for stuff
using me

can’t someone just get over themselves
and their crippling insecurity
long enough
to just sit by my side
and keep me company

just like any other friend
would do.

Man you are so good My Jewish brother. The words you just typed pretty well sums up how IT SHOULD BE!!!!

Am I tired of Jesus articles?
Not really.
Since I believe Jesus is God, I don't have a problem with people who are so in love with Him they are compelled to write about Him.
Am I tired of the disagreements?
Yeah, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't learn a lot from those too.
Ya know who I miss on the religion articles?  Bakerstreet.  He really had a way of winnowing things down to common sense and cutting straight to the heart of a matter.
You don't believe Jesus is God.  You don't believe Jesus is the son of God.  You are tired of the Jesus articles.
Got it.
I love ya anyway.

Now Jesus Is G-d? that is heresy. And I still love you too.

Hope things are starting to settle down somewhat! Prayers from be been going out since yesterday when I finally caught up with you and what has been going on.

Isn't it those articles in the religion section or (if in other categories but are about Christ or religion) that get the highest number of comments?

Not exactly true, the highest responded articles are techie ones, and my article about Terry Schiavo {sp?} was over 325 responces.

Ya, I should have done a check and discovered that before I made the comment! Thanks for keeping me straight! technies # 1 in comments, is religion #2?

I don't remember your blog about Terry Schiavo. I'm curious though, were the moral and religious aspects of killing her discussed?

hahahaha.

Yup. That gets over looked in all the "son of god" stuff. Christians believe Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are all one in the same....they just perform different functions.

You knew that tho...right? Yer just pullin my leg.

Seriously tho, Thank you for your prayers. It means a lot to me Elie.

nope the name of the article was "starve a LIBERAL instead of Terry Schiavo" Nothing about religion, just about the decision about letting her starve to death.

Ah, Emo Phillips. Where would we be without him?

That's the credit for the "Die Heretic!" joke.

You know, religious articles are interesting to a point. But it seems like it's just the same thing being said over and over again with nothing new.

I will give credit to the Christians on JU, though, they know a lot more about what they believe and why than most of the hard-core believers I come across IRL and elsewhere on the net.

How are you feeling, Elie?

hey, the only Jesus article I'm really in right now is Sodaiho's blog and it's not me and Lula so much as it's me and Nightshades (for the most part). Sodaiho and Lula have been making guest appearances  ;p

And I do try to not turn another blog into a Jesus thread as much as I can help it. But I admit if someone starts, I see an open door and head in.

I was actually wondering where are all these Jesus' articles MM is talking about? Because the only one I know about currently is Sodaiho's.

LW,

Well, going around and around and around with KFC is major fun to me!

re: my hijacking threads...thanks for your comments. I'll try to keep those in mind.

Ah, wait...now that I've read KFC's post, I want to amend that....

But I admit if someone starts, I see an open door and head in.

The main reason Jesus articles get so many comments is because most of those comments are from lula and KFC going around and around and around.I don't care how many they post, as long as they're in the proper category, what tends to piss me off is when these two wander into other areas and no matter what the original topic was, they soon hijack it and turn it INTO a Jesus thread.

Goooooooo tell on the mountain Sista! Preach it bay bee!

No one knows for sure if Jesus is the son of G-d for SURE! Stop saying he is!

For the good or the bad of it, this is one request a Christian can't agree to.  Not only are we charged to "let our light so shine", which means live as an example to others, but we are also charged with feeding His sheep... which we know means, preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Having said this, I agree with your take on the confusion of Christianity.  Can you imagine what might happen if they all decided to agree with each other and form a single church.  The rest of us wouldn't stand a chance (For the dense - I am trying to be funny).

All I a can say is, if all Christians started thinking exactly the same, I think I'd have to wonder what was in the Kool-Aid. ;~D

Excellent reply ParaTed.

When it comes to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, shouldn't all Christians be thinking exactly the same?

The problem is we aren't drinking the same Kool Aid!

St.Paul tells us that while we have different talents and gifts, we are supposed to have the same theological basis of Christian unity...that is according to Eph. 4:4-5, "one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one Baptism, one faith, one God and Father of us all"

Verses 13 and 14 that follow describe what happens when there is no unity...that we are indeed tossed to and fro with every wind.

Exactly, which is why it won't happen until Christ Himself comes back and straightens it all out. ;~D
