My partial review of Obama's US Senate voting record.

     Today I will review Mr. Obama's voting record.  It has been reported that he has missed 263 votes of the present congress.  Which means he votes 56% of the time.

 

On the critical issues Mr. Obama has votes as follows:

  • voted against amendment to Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act would allowed expanded surveillance of foreign suspects without a warrant.
  • voted to expand chip health insurance.
  • he did not vote for or against for the bill to implement the 9/11 commissions recommendations.
  • voted on cloture for the immigration reform bill.
  • voted against 120 billion of Iraq war funding and other programs.
  • voted for another war funding bill with benchmarks for withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
  • voted for war funding bill that would require troops to start withdrawing 120 days after bill was passed.
  • voted for non-binding resolution that would require president to redeploy us forces away from Iraq.
  • voted for increase in the federal minimum wage.
  • voted for bill to increase transparency in congress about earmark legislation.
  • voted for the secure fence act.
  • voted against amending "military commission act of 2006".
  • voted to allow research on existing embryos that would otherwise be destroyed.
  • voted against senate amendment that would create power for congress to ban desecration of the American flag.
  • voted against cloture vote on the gay marriage amendment.
  • voted for amendment requiring president to withdraw troops, but with no time limit.
  • voted for amendment securing the borders but allowing for guest worker and path to citizenship.
  • voted no to expand Bush tax cuts.
  • voted for reauthorization of the "patriot act".
  • voted against Samuel A. Alito confirmation to the Supreme Court in the second confirmation.
  • voted against 40 billion cut from federal budget by restructuring some social programs.
  • voted to offer tax breaks and incentives to oil companies with hopes of spurring innovation that would lead to reduction in oil dependency.
  • voted against free trade pact between United States, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Dominican Republic.
  • voted against united nations ambassador confirmation in order to limit debate.
  • voted against measure that would make it more difficult for people to declare bankruptcy.
  • voted for amendment that "Sought to curtail the ability of plaintiffs to file class-action lawsuits against corporations by making cases that were filed in multiple states the responsibility of federal courts".

Where is your review?  You posted his votes but I though you were going to review them?  Hate the fact he voted for tax breaks and incentives to the already record profit producing oil companies.  Hurts my bones it does.
