MyColors 2.5 Support Thread

With the release of MyColors 2.5 please place all community support items in this thread. This means if you have found a workaround for a problem or want to see if the community has found a solution to your problem please post here. For individual support issues please contact [email protected].

New Features

Known Issues

Gadgets on 64-bit Vista do not launch when applying a theme.  They can be launched manually by running them from the shortcut folder created on the desktop. This should be enhanced in the near future.

WindowBlinds 6.1 customers will need to update their version of WindowBlinds to 6.10.084 before (ideally or after) installing MyColors 2.5.

If you are a new user to ObjectDesktop and have installed WindowBlinds over MyColors (fresh install), you may experience issues with MyColors 2.5.  If so, please uninstall WindowBlinds and re-install WindowBlinds 6.10.084 to resolve the issue.

Is anyone else having problems with the Diamond theme ? The taskbar and window icons turn to static when I ally this theme. I am using WinXP home.

After last update found XP version WB did not work in MyColors. In WB vista version loads on my XP but XP version nothing happens when try to load it.

Not had problems with icons.

Yep, it for me will not load at all using either MyColors or WB. It shows in WB config as the applied skin but it is not.

XP Home SP3
MyColors and WB both up to date.

hey i just got the pirate suite and its workin fine but is there anyway 2 put the pirate applications on my sidebar (I have vista) and also how do i make the weather application into that small orange box i saw on the first ad

Not sure what you are after but I can have 3 styles Minimised which you said is wrong, normal which is square or extended by clicking on extras. If you have extended click extras to reduce to standard square. If non of those 3 no idea sorry.

What I have called normal is what I can see in the ads. for it

Hope someone is still watching this :)

Anytime I launch MyColors, the Windowblinds setting to "Show icon in the system tray for easy access...." gets unchecked.

Is there anyway to stop this behavior? I like to have the WB icon in the systray for easy, well you get the idea.

Ok my problem is that I have about 19 themes sitting in My Colors that I can't use, everytime I apply from either My Colors or Windowblinds I end up with fuzzy blocks instead of toolbar icons, I submitted a ticket and recieved two possible soloutions on two seperate occasions, I tried both to no avail, I am getting desperate here, I don't know if they are still working on my problem and I don't want to go the route of money back, cos I want these themes, is there anybody out there that has had the same problem and knows of a way to fix this as I am going mad....please let there be somebody out there, please......

I have a strange problem when I applied the Green theme, when I try to highlight any text on a web page or word document, there is no highlight of the selected text.

 

The text has been selected as such but there is no visual sign to show which part of the text has been hightlighted.

 

I know that I probably didnt explain the situation too well but I would really like some advice on what to do to fix it.

Is My Colors..I am not sure what it's for. If I have WindowBlinds what is the advantage to adding MyColors? I have looked around but can't find info on this. Is it just a way to apply all the themes, icons, sounds, etc. Long as I have those apps installed too?

Help.  I just updated My colors now the myu colors page comes up sitting too far to the right.  Its so far across I cant see about 1/3 or the my colors including the scroll bar

I use my SOny Bravia TV as a display and its set to 1024 x 768

I had my Sins of a Solar Empire them installed for a long time... and recently when i opened new windows and things... the entire right side and bottom of the outline had dissapeered.. so i uninstalled MyColors and re installed it... but when i try to apply my Sins theme... it says there is an error in registering my sins serial code.. even though it is all correct.

Diamond Theme Problem

I have a problem with the Diamond theme.  The task bar, minimize, maximize and close buttons are displayed as multi-colored static graphics (there are more buttons that are affected, I just did not list them all).  I have looked in the Diamond directory and most of the bitmaps there are the multi-colored static that I am seeing in place of actual buttons.  This is the file named but_close_UIS1.bmp from the Diamond directory.  This is what I see in place of the Close button in the top right corner of all windows.  For MyColors and themes, I have installed, uninstalled, installed through Impulse, updated my graphics drivers all to no avail.  The Think Green theme works fine, even though I spotted a few multi-color static .bmp files there as well (maybe in time I will come across a static image somewhere in that theme too).  Is there any place that I can get the needed files for the C:\Program Files\Stardock\MyColors\Diamond directory?  This would fix the problem since the program is working correctly; it's just that as it is now, it is GIGO (you give me static colored graphics and that is exactly what the program is displaying).

I wanted to try the free themes out first before plunking down the money for Object Desktop and some themes.  If this is what I have to look forward to then it is money well saved.  It is just that I really wanted this software.  I sure hope someone can come up with a solution.

Is there any chance we could please get the various MyColors suite 'View History' documents updated?

In the past I've had one or two problems with a couple of the suites (managed to work round them with the help of Tech Support), but whenever a MyColors suite get updated, we never get told what has been fixed/added/removed/transmogrified/bandersnatched/... with the suite.

ETA: This is the View History right-click option in Impulse, I should point out. I don't think that is offered in MyColors itself.

I've just purchased MyColors Vintage which I'm planning to install on my computer.

However, I'm wondering how I can make an "offline" backup of this theme?

That it can be downloaded and activated with use of the main program is great,

but will this still work let's say 5 years from now when I wan't to "re-install" my old' computer?

I rather make an "offline" backup for myself just in case.

Your theme files are saved to:

 

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\ThemeManager

Vista/7: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\ThemeManager

 

Just backup that folder to save your themes
