The ship cap setting, broken?

Well, i just ask because it doesnt matter if i put the shipcap setting at medium or high, the max cap is still 2000, and the ships still cost the same :O
Whats with it?

You mean fleet size? Maybe a lot also has to do with the map and the # of players?

I don't think the option itself is broken, but I think the numbers in the research screen don't change with the setting properly.

So, is it invisibly lowering the cap costs of the ships, or is it invisibly raising the cap from the fleet research? :P

Maybe the option works, but we don't know what it does. I always assumed it meant decreasing the fleet supply awarded by upgrades, but I could be wrong--I haven't noticed any difference.

Yeah, it changes the amount of fleet supply.

You are talking about small/normal/large fleets option, right?

Setting 'large fleets' increases the fleep cap for *each level* by 25%. The numbers given on the fleet logistics research page don't change, however.

With normal fleet sizes you start off with a cap of 100. With large fleet sizes you start with 125. Similarly, with normal the maximum is 2000, and with large the maximum is 2500 (even though it is still listed as 2000 in the research panel).

I see.. I was hoping it would make a more noticeable difference.
Like in a factor of 1000, rather than 250. Is that setting moddable by the way? Without editing every single ship that is? Is it like a global % increase, if so, where?! :D

Yeah, me too.

I was hoping that large fleet sizes would be at least double the original size. 25% seems like a kind of token gesture :(

But oh well. I always play with large fleet sizes anyway. I don't know of anywhere it can be modded (which isn't to say it doesn't exist).

It can be modded here in "Gameplay.constants" in gameInfo folder.

fleetSupplyData-Small
fleetSupplyScalar 0.75
fleetSupplyData-Normal
fleetSupplyScalar 1.0
fleetSupplyData-Large
fleetSupplyScalar 1.25

1 = 100%
1.25 = 125%
2 would be double fleet capacity (holy lag batman!)
