How am I still getting a white screen?

I am having the same problem many people have had getting a white screen. Stardock people have been saying this must mean your video card does not support Shader Model 2.0.

I have an Intel 82865G video card. That is compatible with DirectX 9.0, which is the version I have installed. And DirectX 9.0 is compatible with Shader Model 2.0. I have the latest drivers installed.

How am I still getting a white screen?

You're getting a white screen because your card does not support Shader 2.0, see this link to the relevant intel webpage that shows this.

Also, the game's minimum requirements state that it needs a "DirectX 9.0c 3D Video Card" while (as stated at this section of Intel's site) your card only supports "DirectX up to 9.0" (and 9.0c is greater than 9.0)


I wish I had better news, but your video card is the problem.

Intel 828XX series chipsets are actually only DirectX 7 or 8 compatible, as I recall. DirectX 9/9.0c support was not implemented until the 82910/82915.
